Castro Valley to Niles bike ride

Saturday group ride from Castro Valley BART to Niles and back over Palomares.

This is a relaxed 32-mile ride with about 2,600 ft of climbing, averaging around 10 mph with frequent regrouping. The route goes up and over Palomares to Niles, where we’ll stop for food/coffee, then returns back over Palomares the other way.

Palomares is one of the classic local cycling roads: gentle rollers for several miles, a steeper final stretch, and some memorable descents in both directions.

Meet at 10:30 AM in front of the Castro Valley BART main entrance. Bring water, snacks/bars, and money for food or coffee in Niles.

Ride leader info is available on the original event listing.
