Is anyone having issues with burrowing on Libby right now?

Idk what’s going on. I thought it was just audiobooks, but I just tried to burrow an ebook, and as soon as I tap the burrow button, it just sits there with the loading circle.

Tried refreshing, closing and opening the app, but nothing’s working.

Not sure if I’m just doing something wrong or what. I already have one book checked out, so this is a fairly new issue to me.

Are there any HH novels following WB’s after Lorgar’s reunion but prior to turning to Chaos?

I’m not generally into the Heresy era, but I was curious to read what they were like prior to turning to Chaos, but after Lorgar was reunited with them.

The League was not prepared to deal with Izuku “Spiders” Midoriya.

When they had kidnapped Midoriya at the hero camp, they realized the suit he wore that covered literally every inch of him wouldn’t come off.

“It doesn’t matter, just keep him tied up.” Shigaraki said impatiently.

Twice did as he was told, as the rest got cozy and waited.

Eventually, Midoriya’s head rose, clearly coming back to consciousness.

“Welcome back to the land of the living!” Twice spoke before anyone else could.

They watched Midoriya turn his head this way and that.

“We just wanted to have a little chat.” Shigaraki said as he pulled up a chair to sit right in front of him.

“Who are you guys?” Midoriya asked. Shigaraki noticed there was something off about his voice, but he couldn’t put his finger on what.

“We’re the League of Villains,” Shigaraki said, “and we wanted to formally invite you to join us. From what we’ve heard, you’re an outcast, just like us.”

Midoriya just stared at him. They couldn’t see his eyes underneath his mask, but Shigaraki knew he had his attention.

“So tell me. Why do they call you Spider?”

“Spiders.”

“What?”

“They call me Spiders. Not Spider.”

Shigaraki chuckled, “Alright. Why do they call you Spiders?”

“Because…”

Suddenly, Shigaraki realized what was off about his voice. It wasn’t just one. It sounded like thousands were speaking in perfect unison.

He had this revelation at the same instant the first of the spiders began pouring from the mouth of Midoriya’s mask.

Spiders were pouring out from the figure that had once been Midoriya.

Hundreds, perhaps thousands poured out and began scuttling towards them.

“WHAT THE-“ Shigaraki gasped and jumped up onto the chair he’d been sitting on, only to see a wave of them crawling up the leg.

Meanwhile the rest of the League wasn’t handling the situation much better, as they’d unintentionally placed Midoriya between them and the only door that left the bar they’d brought him to.

“GET THEM AWAY!!!” Spinner screamed as he tried to run through them, making a rush for the door.

The last they saw of him was a mound of spiders that collapsed to the floor as they began to panic.

——

“Alright, we’ve got the building surrounded.” Detective Tsukauchi said as he coordinated the teams of police and heroes. “All Might, are you ready?”

“Yes I- wait! Something’s happening!”

Just then he heard the screams as well.

Suddenly, a window exploded and three people literally came flying out, all screaming and panicking as they swatted at themselves.

Moving quickly, they made the arrests, bringing in the core members of the League.

They found Spinner on the floor, unconscious, but unharmed, having fainted from the severe fright he’d suffered.

They found Midoriya still tied to the chair, his suit intact again as he waited for them to save him, like nothing had happened.

——

Present Mic narration

IZUKU “SPIDERS” MIDORIYA

Quirk: Spiders.

Midoriya is a mass of telepathic spiders linked in a hive mind that come together to form a humanoid shape, and contain themselves in a suit made from their webbing.

They are extremely venomous, though not to humans. Their fangs aren’t big enough to penetrate the average human skin.

Quick Note: Don’t come near me!

What features would you add for an expansion/sequel?

I’m aware it’s basically an accepted fact we’re not likely going to get an actual sequel, so I figured this could be fun to speculate on what could be added if they did, or maybe expanded on the game (even all these years later).

For example, one idea I was thinking could be interesting was to add trailers you haul behind your engine. So you could haul more cargo if you do like me, which is primarily trade. I’m a former truck driver myself, and I just remember playing Sunless Skies for hours, listening to audio books, just trading goods between locations, making money.

So I think it could be fun if you could haul a trailer or two (perhaps even more) to haul even more cargo around, with the obvious risk of being a larger target as they can be hit by the various dangers of the skies.

Another that could be fun is radios to listen to, sort of like in the Fallout games, where you could listen to in universe music, and perhaps news to hear how your actions are affecting events in the world. Maybe even for fun they make some full on old fashion radio shows, perhaps making adventure stories that are obvious propaganda for whichever faction is in charge. Like a heroic adventurer who battles against those dastardly rebels trying to destroy the proud industrialists.

Lastly for me, I know this would have to nearly make it a whole different game, but I would love to walk around the various ports myself, instead of just reading about them, perhaps in a top down style game, where your character is just a generic black circle so it doesn’t change what you want them to look like.

Maybe even have little scenes showing you exiting your engine, and speaking to people around the station, like when you take on people wanting transportation, you go over to an area for that, talk to them, and you can watch them walk over to and enter your engine.

Also I would just plain love to see more of the beautiful art they created, so allowing us to walk around the stations and other locations would give them a lot of opportunities to shine a lot of it.

Maybe even going on the extreme with the being able to walk around, they make it where you can walk around your engine, as it’s frequently implied to be pretty large on the inside, and let you customize how it looks.

So you could go full on high brow Victorian decorations, with fancy curtains and lights and such, or maybe Oriental.

“They’re. All…BUNNIES!!!”

From the day they first met him, Class A loved Izuku Midoriya. Mostly the girls.

He was not only a rabbit heteromorph, but his small size made him roughly just a little bigger than an average domestic bunny, with big floppy ears which he could lift to used enhanced hearing, and thumbs.

The girls couldn’t get enough of seeing him in his little uniform, using human sized pencils and notebooks, which were huge to him.

Despite his size, however, Izuku distinguished himself in field training, as with One-For-All, and his own enhanced physiology, he was a tiny, but dangerous force to be reconned with.

They still delighted in seeing how he operated day to day, however, as he insisted on his own independence. Like having to use a stool to reach the counter to help with mean prep, to how he literally had to climb the stairs.

It wasn’t until an open house night at the dormitory, however, that Class A nearly lost it when his entire family showed up.

They were all similar sized rabbit heteromorphs, including his grandparents, who wore little glasses and his grandfather a little cane he walked with.

Then there were his siblings.

All 12 of them.

They were immediately all various shades of green blurs, running around the dorms in excitement as Inko and Izuku tried to wrangle them in, with the help of Class A.

Surprisingly, it was Bakugo who ended up bringing them in order, as with a single shout, the child rabbits were all suddenly standing in order from oldest to youngest in front of him.

“NOW LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER!!!” He yelled angrily, and shamefully, their ears flat, they all finally slowed down, and behaved.

“Thank you Katsuki.” Inko said as she started to count them. “…ten, eleven…Where’s Izumi?”

“ALRIGHT RUNT WHERE ARE YOU?!!” Katsuki shouted, looking around. When he turned, they all saw the youngest and smallest of the Midoriya’s giggling and clinging to the back of his shirt.

Are US businesses legally required to accept physical currency for a transaction?

I’ve seen that there are businesses now that are going all digital when it comes to making purchases.

As in they don’t take cash. In order to make a purchase you must use a credit/debit card.

In the US at least, if I go into one of these businesses and insist on paying with cash, and provided they don’t simply refuse to service me, are they required by law to accept it?

What do you think Poirot would’ve been like as a grandparent?

A bit off topic from the mysteries, but just a thought I had while watching the show.

Like if not much else changed his wife had lived long enough to have a child or two, and later during many of his mysteries, they made him a grandpa.

Personally I like to think he would be the sweet grandpa the children love because he always gives them chocolates (much to their mother’s displeasure).

Perhaps even later on, if Hastings is away dealing with his own affairs, his adult (or at least late teens) grandchild becomes his sidekick, following along and narrating his stories for him.

Maybe even for fun he has a grandson who’s growing his first mustache while helping him with a case, but a typical English fashion style, rather than his large handlebar, and Hercule will not let that go.

Like several times throughout the story, Hercule just glares at his grandson’s mustache and just silently fumes.

Like they’re preparing to reveal the killer and Hercule just stops and is like “All the chocolate I gave you growing up and you cannot grow a proper mustache like your grandpapa?!!” But then catches himself and returns to the professional detective.

All the while his grandson is trying not to laugh.

The Confederacy may have been fighting to preserve the institution of Slavery, but the Union was NOT fighting to end it. And New York City proved it.

The topic of the motivations for the American Civil War have been debated since the day it ended.

Even as a Southerner myself, I fully admit that yes, the CSA’s motivation, while not exclusive, did include preserving the institution itself. There is no denying that fact, it’s documented.

However.

The Union was not, by default, fighting to end it. Their motivation was solely preserving the Union itself.

Most Yankees had absolutely no concern for slaves, one way or the other.

There’s plenty of proof of this, including Abraham Lincoln himself having flat out stated he had no interest in going after the institute, even though he did openly believe it was a moral evil.

The biggest proof is actually New York City.

They rioted.

Specifically the New York City Draft Riots of 1863.

And they weren’t the only ones. There were cities and townships all over the Union that balked at the idea of sending their soldiers to fight for slaves.

Lincoln’s sole reason for even passing it was because of the war.

Believe it or not, the CSA was actually doing fairly well for a solid portion of the war. Not to mention European countries were hoping to end it with a southern victory, if it meant keeping the price of textiles down, and dividing what even they could see was a growing potential rival.

By passing the Emancipation Proclamation, forcing the issue of Slavery to the forefront, Lincoln basically forced Europe to publicly make the choice.

Support the side fighting for slavery, or the side fighting to end it.

They decided to look the other way, politically isolating the CSA.

All of this is to say, that had the war ended sooner, the Union becoming the faction fighting to end slavery never would’ve been a thing. It only became that in an effort to win the war, and it nearly kneecapped them, as it was a major issue during Lincoln’s second election, which took place while the war was still going on.

McClellan, the person who ran against him was even said to have planned on simply making a peace agreement with the CSA, rather than continuing the fight, since by then the Union civilian population was getting sick of the war.

Allowing the Institution of Slavery to continue.

“Kind of, it’s complicated.” Izuku said, “I only visited once, but they were nice to me. My Uncle Tony was kind of intense.”

“Oh, was he like an enforcer or something?” Ochaco asked as the couple sat down in a booth and looked at the menu.

“No he was the boss I think.” Izuku replied.

Just then the waitress came by and took their order. As she stepped away, Izuku looked over at a little music player and scrolled through the options.

“So are they still operating?” Uraraka asked curiously.

“No. I think Uncle Tony is dead, or maybe in prison.”

“How do you know?”

Izuku glanced at the entrance as someone came in as he said “Because he

If anyone who doesn’t agree with you is an enemy, you’re in a cult.

One of the most predatory tactics of cults is social isolation from outsiders, and it’s one of the most devastating as once it’s taken on by its members it can spread like a virus as they no longer hear outside opinions.

So if hearing a different opinion makes you violent, if you cut off family members who dare to question your beliefs, if you block friends who don’t agree with you, you are in a cult.

Those people who encourage you to do this, even cheering you on when they learn you did so are your fellow cult members who will turn on you the moment you don’t mirror their beliefs.

What would happen to Dr Cameron from the show “House” after she drugged a patient so he couldn’t leave the hospital?

I just watched an episode of the show House MD, and though I know it’s obviously fiction and this is hardly the morally worst thing they’ve done on it, I was curious about this one.

Basically a morbidly obese patient was thought dead but turned out to be in a coma and woke up in the hospital.

After some tests and conversations he goes to leave, in spite of them insisting he stay until they figure out why he’d been in that coma.

Only to suddenly pass out and fall, making them bring him back.

At which point Dr. Allison Cameron admits to House and another character that she drugged him because she didn’t think he should leave until they finished running their tests.

So if reality and real life rules and laws suddenly kicked in (since in the show I believe they just drop it after this) at this moment, and maybe even the patient decided to press charges once he learned what she did, what would happen?

I’d imagine she would likely lose her medical license at minimum, but would this also be full on prison?

Also I believe the show takes place in New Jersey, so I guess their laws should be applied here.

Do you think if Izuku got a Green Lantern ring he’d suddenly too OP for UA?

I was just browsing lore videos to listen to and came across some Green Lantern stuff and had this thought.

I imagine given his actions in canon, he would qualify for a ring if one became available.

But then, given how stupidly powerful they can be, and the fact that they have their own trainers and such, unless you did something like a full DC crossover, Izuku likely wouldn’t need to go to UA.

Idk that I would say it would be a waste of time, but unless there was a reason the GL Core couldn’t train him (though the image of Izuku being yanked through space after getting the ring while screaming in terror is kind of funny like when he held onto All Might’s leg), I just don’t see why he would need to attend.

Especially given the galactic threats they deal with.

Could someone help me with finding the chapter I stopped at?

I remember all the way up to the chapter, so I don’t want to start it over, I just want to pick up where I left off and just finish this series so I can metaphorically close this chapter of my life, as while I’ve mostly grown out of it, I used to be a major HP fan.

So I was hoping someone could tell me which chapter this was, so I can skip to it in my current copy I checked out from the library.

The last scene I remember distinctly before I finished the chapter was >!Harry burying Dobby after he’d been killed.!<

I can’t remember if that was at the beginning or end of the chapter, but I remember reading that scene, and finishing the chapter it’s in.

The next day a bunch of jerks who just read the last few chapters was going around shouting what happened because HP was pretty popular in my high school as this was back when the final book had been originally released.

Do the Exorcists have Chaplains that already went through the possession ritual?

I know this is a dumb question as all chapters are required to have chaplains, but I’m wondering if maybe they pick specific aspirants to not go through it, or at least be possessed by very specific daemons.

The reason is because (unless this got retconned since the last time I looked into it) they have to be specially trained and all at a specific place, away from their chapter, before being sent back, and if there was any place that might figure out what they’re doing, it’s the place they train chaplains, which might present a problem for keeping that secret.

I know they’re also hardly the only chapter with a secret, and I imagine the chaplain place makes allowances for various chapters’ culture, but this is a pretty big deal if they learned what they were doing behind closed doors.

Like even if it’s been dispelled, I think they may detect that he’s had some kind of contact with warp entities at some point, which might lead one particularly suspicious chaplain trainer to take a closer look, in case an actual daemon has somehow gotten in.

Unless maybe to address this very specific issue, they pick aspirants before they do the ritual, and once they’re ready, send them to become a chaplain, and then do the ritual when they return.

“Merc work just pays more.”

Izuku noticed that almost right out of school, while he kept tabs on most of his classmates, Ochaco had all but vanished.

That was until years later, after his friends came together to make his hero suit, as she was among them.

Among many other things that happened after that, including Izuku getting to resume hero work, he learned exactly what had happened to Ochaco for all those years she was gone.

“A mercenary?!” He asked, stunned as they walked towards her home.

“Yeah. It turns out PMC’s are always looking for trained heroes, and after all we went through, it didn’t really take that much of an adjustment.”

Ochaco unlocked the door and welcomed him in.

“So what do you do exactly? Are you like a Rescue Hero for Hire or something?”

She led him into a side room.

“This is my office.” Uraraka said proudly.

Izuku saw what he expected, which was a desk, chair and computer, along with several file cabinets.

She then led him deeper into her house, and opened a door.

“And this is my workshop.”

Izuku froze when he saw what was inside.

There was a well organized workspace, where she’d already laid out a disassembled rifle, but that was just the first.

All across the walls, and along several shelves were guns, and various types of body armor. From a simple bulletproof vest, to what looked like a full bodysuit with heavy plated armor on the vitals.

“You’re a…”

“Soldier of fortune Deku!” Uraraka said confidently as she pulled Izuku over to her kitchen, and prepared some wine glasses.

“But…I thought you wanted to be a hero.” Izuku muttered as she poured them both a glass full of what looked like some very expensive wine.

“That’s why we drifted apart after the war, Deku.” Uraraka said purposely softening her tone. “I told you I was in it for the money, not altruism like you. Plus it just pays more than hero work.”

Izuku fell silent, looking down at his wine glass as she handed it to him.

Uraraka sighed and smiled at him. “If it makes you feel any better, it’s also how I fund all those quirk therapy clinics. The kind that would’ve saved Himiko Toga…”

He nodded, “Yeah. Some of my students went to them. You’ve done a lot of good.”

Uraraka just smiled and sipped her wine.

What if they all had evil siblings like Eagleclaw who formed their own evil band?

It’s my personal favorite episode, mostly because the scene with the sun spirit guy always tickles me, and I was thinking it would’ve been fun if the show was still going, or maybe they made a special where they do a Battle of the Bands thing against Eagleclaws, who’s formed an evil band with the others’ siblings, who’s are all also evil or otherwise their opposite.

Also like Eagleclaws, their inciting incidents were relatively inconsequential.

Like Andy Fitness, Ricky’s lazy brother. He uses an auto drum kit so he doesn’t have to play, he just pretends to. He’s still angry for Ricky unplugging his auto drums, even though it was an accident, as he mixed up the plugs with the one for his blender after making a veggie smoothie. He immediately plugged it back in, but had exposed that Andy couldn’t play…to their grandmother who was babysitting them, and was asleep anyway so she hadn’t noticed.

Or Caution McLarson, Crash’s overly cautious brother who’s kind of a wet blanket. He plays the bass too, but has to be constantly motivated. Crash accidentally took his bass when the Aquabats went on their first tour. They had identical bass guitars, and he only noticed because one of the strings was slightly out of tune, even though he’d already tuned it that morning.

Bimmy the Robot (also played by James Briggs), he was just another robot of the same model that, in an attempt to be more human, Jimmy pranked by changing his coded name to Billy, and he still hasn’t gotten over it, even though Jimmy changed it back right away.

MC Batlieutenant, who is bitter that Batcommander was given a higher ranking name, even though it’s just their names, not any sort of official rank.

Trying to remember this lady knight/pirate who was nicknamed The Lioness.

I just remember watching a short history video on her ages ago, and wanted to look more into her. Unfortunately her description matches several other famous historical figures, and typing Lion anything into a search brings up pretty much everything you could imagine about the Lion King movies.

The broad strokes I remember was she became a pirate in full plate (I remember a painting they showed of her in armor), though idk if she was ever considered a knight, or Dame (if I’m not mistaken), after her husband was killed, and she went on a years (possibly decades) long revenge quest against the nation that killed him, but I can’t remember if it was the Spanish or the French, but I’m pretty sure it was one of them.

I also remember she was nicknamed the Lioness because of her ferocity.

Like she actively took part in the fighting and was known to go pretty crazy with it.

How much is too much weight to lose during the first 2 weeks?

I finished my first 2 weeks of IF, 18/6 split. I generally eat well, stay hydrated, and exercise.

My starting weight was 502lbs. I weighed myself this morning, and I’m now at 482lbs. So I’ve lost 20lbs.

To be fair, other than still struggling with the hunger, and controlling my portions when I break my fast, I feel fine, and it may just be in my mind but my skin already feels looser, but I’ve never lost this much weight in such a relatively short time.

So though I am aware this is most likely just water weight, and my weight loss will slow down either way.

Realistic zombie apocalypse?

Besides World War Z and The Walking Dead, I’ve read those.

Was hoping for a proper POV zombie apocalypse novel with the focus on realism on how people react to it.

Preferably novel, as I am aware of a few other comic books like ‘68, I think it’s called, where they have zombies in Vietnam.

Also preferably not just torture porn, as I have read the Atrum Terra Trilogy, but that came off more like the author was trying way too hard to be as dark and gritty as possible.
