Recommendation for a Howard’s Conan the Barbarian collection available on Kindle?

I tried reading the one that comes with Kindle Unlimited, and I’ll just say whoever was in charge of editing it needs to be fired.

A quick search brings up several collections, and was wondering if anyone could make a recommendation.

“How exactly did you ‘accidentally’ get a girlfriend by arm wrestling her?”

“Well you know how Usagiyama’s really tough, and strong? Like a girl Bakugo?” Izuku said.

“Yeah?”

“Well apparently she’s always wanted a boyfriend who was stronger than her.”

“How did she find out you were stronger?”

“It started during the hero/villain scenario when I destroyed most of that building.”

“And that proved to her you were stronger?”

“No. That was what made her angry at me. After I healed she broke into my room to arm wrestle me.”

“To arm wrestle you?”

“She even brought in one of those special tables for it and everything…well I thought it would make for a great test, and I…kind of overdid it. Now she says we’re dating until she gets stronger than me.”

“Is that why your arm is in a cast?”

Before he could answer, Rumi appeared, walking towards them, her arm also in a cast. Without breaking stride she used her good arm to grab his and marched towards the door.

“Come on. The cage fights start in half an hour and I want splash zone seats!” His classmate turned girlfriend said as she dragged him along.

“Splash zone? You mean like blood?!” Izuku asked, horrified.

“Hell yeah! This is an underground place you’re taking me! The only rule is the last one standing wins!”

Izuku shuttered as they left the building.

Why are there such strict limitations on how many ebooks Libby can lend out?

I just started using it, but like almost all the books I was hoping to borrow are either not available, or have basically a waiting list.

I can kind of understand the limited number of books, but why is it different from location to location, and not just one big database we can pull from?

Has the “positive review” threat like in Mordland ever worked irl on a band?

Just watched Mordland, the latest episode released on YouTube, and was wondering if that was ever recorded as happening irl, and working?

Like I could imagine some influencer trying it possibly with some smaller, up and coming band, but just because of them having those brothers try something so blatant (and dangerous) with a band like Dethklok, I was wondering if there was some infamous example of this happening with a bigger name.

Like did some magazine try to strong arm someone like Black Sabbath or Metallica for a positive review, in spite of their immense fame.

Was there a narrative point to the Rats?

I haven’t read the books (yet), but I have seen clips from the show (including the Rats’ ultimate fate), and I’m aware of some of the broad strokes of the stories.

I’m curious of what inspired them.

Were they just meant to be these unlikeable jerks, or was he mocking D&D adventure groups as that was my initial thought when I first learned about them and their reputation among the fandom.

What’s with the noise coming from the amp in the Snakes n’ Barrels episode?

I just watched the episode on YouTube, and I noticed when the bassist turned his amp on, there’s what sounds like yodeling coming from it.

What’s causing that? Or is that just some joke from the music industry?

“Momma said knock you out.”

Being a former bare knuckle boxer herself, Inko had made a point of making sure her son knew how to defend himself, especially once it was clear he was quirkless.

Knowing he would face ridicule and bullying, Inko taught her son all she knew about fighting, but also made a point of teaching him to never go seeking them, afraid of what might happen if he became a bully himself.

And so it went, that growing up, he was all but forced to endure the bullying that kids like Bakugo dished out, but kept himself restrained.

Finally, one day when Izuku came home, his uniform torn and burned, his face bruised, Inko questioned him on what happened.

“It was Kacchan again.” Izuku said, clearly fighting to hold back his tears.

“Why didn’t you fight back?” Inko asked worriedly as she helped him take his backpack off.

“Because I don’t want to hurt him.”

The moment she heard that, Inko grabbed her son by the shoulders and forced him to look her in the eye.

“Izuku, that’s not what I taught you! I told you to not go around hurting people, not defend yourself!”

Izuku looked at her, silent.

“If Bakugo touches you again, I don’t care what else happens, you defend yourself! You understand me?”

“Yes ma’am.”

“If he so much as slaps you, you knock him out! Got it?”

“Yes ma’am!”

——

“Your son hospitalized three students, including one Katsuki Bakugo.” The principal said the following day as Inko sat next to Izuku, who didn’t have a scratch on him, aside from his battered knuckles. “His teacher said that after he threw the first punch, he said…” the principal slipped on a pair of reading glasses as he held up a piece of paper, “‘My mother told me to knock you out,’ is that right?”

Izuku nodded.

“I have reviewed our security videos, and while your son was defending himself, we still have to hand everything over to the police, just because of the injuries he caused his attackers.”

“I understand.” Inko said solemnly.

“Well, that’s all for now, Mrs. Midoriya. I have to send Izuku home today, but unless the police say otherwise, he is free to return tomorrow.”

“Everyone knows wrestling is fake! What’s he gonna do-MY LEG!!!”

Inko “The Green Widow” Midoriya, once upon a time, had been one of the most violent, brutal, and vicious extreme wrestlers in Japanese history.

If there was a bone in the human body, she’d either had it broken, or broken it herself. She’d bled in fights that couldn’t even legally be aired on regular television because of how violent they were.

But that was her past.

Now she had settled down, and followed a dream she’d always had, in spite of what many had thought.

Becoming a mother.

She’d considered raising Izuku as the greatest pleasure of her life.

But she never could quite shake the wrestler out of herself.

She’d stayed in the industry, becoming a commentator for women’s wrestling, and eventually wrestling in general.

Not to mention, though she had tried to stop it, her son had gotten into it as well.

While he was too young to participate in any real matches, it didn’t stop them from taking him in as a pupil. Training him in how to do the moves, both for show, and when you really wanted to hurt someone.

Something Katsuki Bakugo was not prepared to deal with when he decided to bully the quirkless new kid, when they moved to their new home when Inko had accepted a new contract for an up and coming wrestling company.

“Hah!” Katsuki laughed when he learned who Izuku’s mother was, “So he’s a quirkless loser! And he thinks wrestling is real?!” He laughed hysterically.

“I never said that.” Izuku said sheepishly as Katsuki continued laughing.

“Oh what’re you gonna do, Deku? Why don’t you just TRY!” He punctuated his last word with a shove.

Izuku sneered, “You really want to fight?”

“Hey Katsuki, I don’t know about this.” One of Katsuki’s followers said nervously. He also knew who Inko was, but had also known just how dangerous she had been in full contact wrestling.

“Everyone knows wrestling is fake! What’s he gonna do-MY LEG!!!”

With little to no warning, Izuku had drop slid towards Katsuki, grabbed and twisted in one fluid motion.

A lightning bolt of pain shot up Katsuki’s leg, just before Izuku lifted and slammed him on the ground with a loud THUMP, banging his head on the unforgiving floor of their classroom.

“What was that?!” One of the followers asked as Katsuki screamed and held his leg, which was now bent the wrong way.

“Mom’s signature move,” Izuku said panting and glaring at them, “The Spider Limb Pluck. His thigh bone’s dislocated. You want some?!”

His adrenaline was hot and he wanted to keep fighting, but the followers backed off, before fleeing, leaving Katsuki screaming on the floor.

Later when their parents came to pick them up, to the Midoriya’s surprise, Mitsuki Bakugo apologized to them.

“I know he likely provoked you.” She said politely, even though her son was the one with crutches, his leg fixed and in a brace. “I’m sorry. I hope we can get past this.”

“It’s fine. I’m just sorry my son used that move on him.” Inko replied.

“I’m sorry ma’am.” Izuku bowed low to her.

Overall, aside from Katsuki, the two families parted amicably.

As they walked home together, Inko and Izuku were silent most of the way. Then, as their apartment came into view, Inko sighed.

“Oh all the things we taught you, I can’t believe you broke one of the biggest rules of the industry.” She said sadly.

Worried, Izuku looked at her.

“Never start with your finisher!”

“My baby launched himself through the wall?!!”

Kind of a follow up to this I thought was funny: https://www.reddit.com/r/BokunoheroFanfiction/s/PwusEXlpwI

Uraraka Midoriya-Ochaco smiled as she held her little green baby in her arms as she rocked him to sleep.

“I still can’t believe he took so much after you.” She said as she glanced over at the human sized rabbit that was her heteromorph husband, Izuku.

He smiled at her as he reached into the toy chest next to the crib.

“It’s almost bedtime, we should get his braces adjusted.” He said as he pulled out a pair of child sized leg braces.

Uraraka frowned. “I don’t want him wearing those!” She said, though she managed to keep her voice down as the baby slumbered in her arms.

Izuku frowned, his ears flattening to his head. “He had rabbit legs like me. We really shouldn’t risk it.”

“He can barely figure out breathing. He’ll be fine for just one night. Besides your mom said you never did that until you were five.”

Izuku sighed and nodded.

Together, the new parents put their little rabbit heteromorph baby to bed, making sure he laid on his back like the book said, before moving over to their own bed across the room as quietly as possible.

Uraraka stared at her sleeping baby as she laid down and slowly closed her eyes.

She jumped when the loud THUMP sounded, making her sit bolt upright and look right at her baby.

Who was gone.

“IZUKU-“

“He’s okay!”

She hadn’t even seen him move, but he wasn’t in the room anymore. Neither was her baby.

She flipped on the lights and to her horror, saw a massive hole in the side of the crib, and the wall. She ran out and to the next room, which was the baby’s room, though it wasn’t finished yet.

Sitting in the rocking chair, she saw Izuku rocking the now crying baby, who had some dust and rubble in his fur as his father tried to brush it off.

“What happened?!” Uraraka asked worriedly as she ran to them and took him from Izuku.

“He popcorned through the wall.” Izuku said calmly as the mother quickly checked for injuries.

“My baby launched himself through the wall?!!” She asked, horrified.

Thankfully, he was fine, and just crying, which took them forever to finally stop.

Eventually they got him back in his crib, which they knew they would need to replace, and with his leg braces on.

What do monks do, exactly? Besides the whole living in monasteries and dedicating their lives to worship.

I’m just curious what they actually do besides worship.

Like are they the ones making prayer ropes and icons and such?

“Midoriya, are you eating metal?

“Tungsten, actually” Izuku said as he continued chewing on a footlong rod of metal.

They just stared at the rabbit heteromorph as he slowly gnawed on the metal. He bit down on it hard enough that they could have sworn his teeth were chipping.

“Is…is there any particular reason?”

“Rabbit teeth never stop growing. I have to chew to shorten them from time to time.” Izuku said, just as a large part of his front teeth snapped off. He didn’t even flinch as he continued chewing.

“Why tungsten?”

“Because my teeth are too strong for steel ever since I got One-For-All. Turns out it enhanced my rabbit physical attributes, like my teeth, so I had to upgrade so I wouldn’t just cut the rod.”

They stared for a moment.

“So what was it you wanted to talk about?” Izuku asked.

“Oh, it’s dinner time, so you need to join us to start cooking.” They said as they started to close his door.

“Alright, I’ll be there in a minute.” Izuku said with a nod.

Does the Saints and Seducers bandits just ruin the game?

I just got the Anniversary Edition, and completed that quest line, and as much as I love the Sword of Jyggalag, I’ve now had it happen twice where I fast travel somewhere like Whiterun, and they spawn in and start attacking everyone.

It’s gotten to the point now just to try to prevent another massacre (as well as the headache of trying to kill them without aggroing the guards) whenever I fast travel, I go to a rural place next to where I want to go.

Is my save just compromised now, or is there something I can do about this?

Edit: I’m playing it on Nintendo Switch 1.

Izuku vanishes, and comes back a new man after some new training, with some new moves. (MHA x Street Fighter)

After their first year ended, and they had a good long break, Izuku had sworn he would keep training.

This excited his classmates, but to their surprise, he promptly vanished the very next day after their last day of school as first years.

Worried, they tried to make contact, and he did reply to texts, assuring them he was fine, but was going through a training regiment he needed to do on his own.

They ultimately decided to leave it at that.

On their first day back, beginning their second year, when Izuku showed up, they almost didn’t recognize him.

While not quite to an absurd degree, he had noticeably bulked up. He’d even clearly had to get a bigger sized uniform just to accommodate his new mass.

What’s more, it wasn’t just for show, as he’d become a veritable Hercules among them, even without OfA.

This of course prompted his classmates asking what he’d been doing, to which he would only say he’d found a really good trainer who’d pushed him beyond all his limits.

During that year’s Sports Festival, they got to meet this mysterious trainer.

“There he is!” Izuku said excitedly. When his classmates looked, they weren’t sure what to expect, but it certainly wasn’t a seven foot tall, bearded Russian.

“Zangief!” Izuku said, running towards him happily.

“Little Midoriya!” The massive man said with ha massive grin on.

The two slapped their hands together and squeezed, flexing their biceps as his classmates looked on in wonder. Then the massive Russian looked over at the other teens.

“So, these are your comrades?”

“Yes!” Izuku said proudly, “these are my friends I told you about.”

Zangief laughed, “I see you are all impressed! Da! I am Little Midoriya trainer! Though he is not so little anymore!”

The trainer and trainee laughed loudly.

“Uncle Loki, please just get Mjölnir off my foot!” (MHA x Thor)

In all the chaos of the USJ attack, Izuku was frantically just trying to protect himself and his classmates.

Using his demigod powers of thunder, combined with his mother’s quirk, he was able to create sonic booms to amplify his punches, which he used to great effect, thanks to his father’s training.

As he’d found himself with Tsuyu and Mineta, neither of which were best suited for open combat, Izuku tried to fight as if he were alone, though he made an effort to keep the villains from getting close to them.

At some random point of the combat, Izuku suddenly found himself alone, as the villains suddenly backed off. For a moment, he thought perhaps he had finally fended them off, or perhaps help had arrived.

He was quickly proven wrong, however, when the nomu suddenly appeared, and slammed a punch that sent him into a stone wall.

Before he could even remotely recover, the monster was on him, and slammed several more punches into him.

Izuku didn’t know how many strikes he took, or how it happened exactly. All he could remember thinking, was that he was going to die, before getting to even try being a hero like his father.

Like Thor…and his hammer…

He felt it before he held it. The deafening clang of the hammer slamming into the nomu. It didn’t knock him away, but it did stop the flurry of strikes.

Before he knew what he was doing, Izuku swung again, charging his power through the hammer, and sending the nomu stumbling back.

He swung again, an upward thrust that rocked its head back, before bringing it down on its chest, nailing it to the ground.

He didn’t, couldn’t stop to think as he stood over the nomu before it could recover, and brought the hammer down, ripped it up, and brought it down again.

Again.

Again.

And again.

Even after the nomu stopped fighting back.

Lightning sparking off him as he ripped the bloody hammer from the splattered brains of the beast, Izuku looked over to the now horrified villains, who watched on helplessly.

He took a step towards them, screaming a warcry that bellowed from his heart, with a rage he could never describe, only feel.

The villains turned and ran, fearing the berserker would turn on them.

Not sure what else to do, Izuku just stood there breathing as he began to feel his adrenaline ebbing off, and fatigue beginning to overtake him.

He looked in his right hand, and suddenly realized he was holding Mjölnir, his father’s hammer.

He gasped, and the hammer suddenly became the heaviest thing he’d ever held, and promptly dropped to the ground like an anvil.

Izuku screamed in agony as the hammer had fell straight down, right on his foot, crushing it.

“How did you manage to do that?!” Loki asked, seemingly appearing out of nowhere.

“Help!” Izuku said desperately as he tried to lift the hammer, but to no avail.

“I mean really, Izuku, you would think to never keep your weapon right above your feet like that-“

“JUST HELP ME UNCLE LOKI!!!” Izuku screamed in desperation.

“Alright alright.” Loki sighed, and with the wave of his hand, a portal opened. The hammer slipped through and off his foot, before landing a few feet away.

Izuku collapsed as his classmates ran to him. His foot wasn’t completely flattened, but it was clearly crushed. He heard them speaking to him, but he couldn’t understand them, the pain too overwhelming.

Just as he blacked out, the pain and fatigue simply being too much, the hammer moved, getting their attention.

“What mischief have you played upon my son, Loki?” Thor asked, glaring at nothing a few feet away from them, as far as the two students could see, as he held his hammer as if it weighed nothing.

Then Thor looked around and noticed the dead nomu, and the gore still splattered upon his hammer.

So as it turns out, Izuku does, in fact, have a quirk. Multiple quirks in fact.

They’re just…difficult to explain how to unlock them.

Each one is locked behind a split personality Izuku was technically born with, but they only come out when the time comes. Something he inherited from a distant ancestor…

Mick Foley.

As just Izuku, he’s quirkless, but is able to communicate with his alters, and is generally in the most control of his body.

His first alter that ever came out was Jinrui. Arguably his least dangerous personality, Jinrui gains strength from pain, the more he’s in the stronger he gets. The trade off being he’s still in pain, and all the alters feel it as well. He is usually Izuku’s go to alter, as he’s the easiest to keep under control, and most willing to give up control. He’s actually a gentle spirit, who loathes violence, but is aware it’s necessary sometimes.

His second alter, and arguably his most dangerous is Kakutasu. Rather than being powered by feeling pain, Kakutasu becomes stronger the more pain he inflicts on others. Worse, he loves violence, and is all too willing to attack anyone he pleases. When he comes out, someone’s getting hurt. He is Izuku’s most difficult to control alter, as he’s reluctant to ever give up control, and often has to be convinced to do so. He’s the first to talk trash, and always willing to back it up. Aizawa had to make a special rule that anytime Kakutasu was in control, he was not allowed anywhere near Bakugo after they nearly destroyed Ground Beta.

His third and final alter is Ai Omae. Ai Omae Izuku’s ultimate, but most difficult alter. He draws power from them all, Jinrui’s power from pain, Kakutasu’s power from inflicting it, and Izuku’s quick thinking and control when he is the charge. The problem is Ai Omae is very aloof. He’s not really apathetic, so much as he’s not really interested in doing anything unless there’s a good reason. Point of fact, he’s only ever taken control once, and had up until then, been something of a mystery. A presence Izuku had been aware of in his head, but hasn’t been able to pin down.

It was during the USJ attack that Ai Omae finally showed up, when even Kakutasu had feared for his life, as the nomu had turned its full attention on them.

Just as what would have been a fatal blow would’ve hit, Izuku’s smiled and reached out, catching the monster’s fist.

What followed was a fight for the ages, but Ai Omae was unable to unleash his full power, having never practiced before, and nearly got them killed anyway. Saved only by All Might’s intervention.

After that, Ai Omae was present with the others, but wasn’t interested in training or even trying to help.

“I’m a lover, baby.” Was his last words before vanishing somewhere within Izuku’s subconscious.

During his time at UA, some of his classmates had their favorite alters.

Kakutasu was popular with their more competitive classmates, as he was always willing to compete. He and Kirishima often end up in some kind of competition of strength, like arm wrestling. They’re not allowed to thumb wrestle anymore after “that incident.”

Jinrui is best friends with Koda, as they both enjoy sitting in nature with the cute woodland critters.

Izuku is generally his canon self.

Ai Omae, on the extremely rare time he does come out, is a lady’s man. For better or worse, though he’s not a Mineta copy.

The combination of his father’s fire breathing quirk, and his mother’s sound amplification ended up creating a son with surprisingly powerful Voice.

What’s more, when he got One-For-All, Izuku became a force of nature, by speaking specific words in his father’s native language, he could do many different feats straight out of fantasy fiction, though the catch was he had to speak them absolutely perfectly, and the strain on his body alone, not to mention the danger of doing something like blasting pure ice from your mouth at excessive speeds, was immense.

His father being a warrior from a mysterious island that appeared in the Pacific Ocean at some point called Tamriel, he was happy to help his son hone his power, as well as his combat skills.

He even helped him pick out a name, Dovahkiin, though he would eventually use the translated name, Dragonborn.

At first, his career going into UA seemed to be going normal as he began his training to become a pro hero.

That was until that faithful day when they went to the USJ.

When a massive black mist appeared, and through it stepped out a small army of not only villains, but creatures from Izuku’s father homeland.

Dragons.

If convicted of a DUI/DWI via drunk driving, the first thing that happens is you should immediately have your drivers license replaced (if not completely revoked) with one (or an ID card) that has a big mark on it that indicates that they cannot purchase alcohol.

From here any sellers, while they generally already do, should be required to check their ID, and if they sell alcohol to a person with this mark on their ID, they get a fine.

If a buyer refuses to show ID, then the seller can simply refuse the sale.

Strawman purchases (aka having another party purchase the alcohol for you) should result in the buyer getting the same mark on their license/ID.

People with this mark who manage to purchase alcohol and is either caught or worse is arrested for another DUI/DWI, then you get a default prison term. Upon release, the mark stays.

Lastly this should be permanent.

Driving drunk has already proven you cannot be trusted with alcohol, so you don’t get to just wait it out, and then go bar hopping and then kill someone or wrap your car around a power pole.

“YOU WHAT?!!” All Might snapped in shock as Izuku shrank before him.

“It was an accident!” Izuku said urgently.

Toshinori sighed. “Alright, just…start from the beginning. What happened?”

“Well, it started as a fan club. I know there’s already several for you, but I didn’t like them, so I started my own. We called ourselves the All Might Followers-“

“The AMF…you started the AMF. The terrorist organization that bombed that warehouse last week because they mixed up the shipment of All Might merchandise.”

“I didn’t tell them to do that!”

“How did you turn a fan club into a cult?!”

“Well…our meetings were just really engaging. Not to mention we decided to start reading all your books, including the biographies and autobiographies, which slowly became our holy texts, and it just…sort of…escalated.”

Yagi sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose.

“So, you’re only just telling me this now because…?”

“Well, you know how you fought and defeated All-For-One last week, and the world saw your true form?”

“Yes.”

“They think you’re an imposter…”

“Okay…”

“…and they want you dead.”

Just then, All Might saw the red dot from a laser sight appear on his chest, but Izuku tackled him to cover even before he could react.

A full automatic rifle opened up, shattering the window as the two huddled behind the couch as it was slowly destroyed.

“WHAT DID YOU GET US INTO MIDORIYA?!!”

“I’VE BEEN TRYING TO STOP THEM ALL DAY!!! I DIDN’T KNOW THEY WERE FOLLOWING ME!!!”

Just like an action/adventure story with the ancient evil stuff, something like the aforementioned movies, or maybe Indiana Jones.

As a start, because I know it kind of started the genre, I have already read “King Solomon’s Mines,” the classic Quatermain adventure story.
