I stopped by Zoo Knoxville again yesterday and saw my furry little friends. They are so cute, I was there last year a few months after they had babies and saw them grow up (and have baby pictures saved on my computer).

I recently moved in to a new house and i was able to design my network closet. I spent most of the cash on tech and shelving will come later. But I just got it all connected and setup. I had to get an extra gigabit switch as I found I needed one more access point in one of the rooms. The two POE switches I had only supported 100mbps.

Building a smart home is fun, but the setup can be a puzzle sometimes which can be fun and frustrating. My router tells me there are 74 clients online right now connected to it and I know about 5 more that are offline.

They were swimming for a bit, took a nap together, then swam some more before I left today.

He is a lion kitten (cub). He was born Feb 17th at zoo Knoxville and is very well taken care of. I think last week they said he weighed 50 lb now. He is alone for a bit as he did have to be hand raised so he could survive and it’s taken some time to reintroduce him to his parents safely so no one gets harmed. I took the photos a few minutes ago.

She was chowing down on breakfast this morning at the zoo in her indoor area. She later climbed up the ramp and went to her private outdoor area for a bit then came down to show off.

I kept getting texts and alerts on my iPad so I stopped and restarted the video a few times but after I did that I realized I could just crop them out and chopped the top off the video.

I have every item in my production forest maxed out, my pleasure island is maxed out except for the newest facility which I can only upgrade one at a time. I’ve been playing since May 2022, I’ve spent a total of $0 in real life money on the game. I’ve been playing most days and only took about a total of maybe 1.5 months off when I was on vacations (longest was 2 weeks on a cruise as I had no internet connection). Once I get all of the items from the special holiday theme I’ll switch back to my island theme.

Picture 2, 19, and 20 were taken within the last month or two (I added them because I liked them but didn’t think I posted them here before) but the rest were taken either last Saturday or yesterday. I have a ton more but I can only upload 20. I even got to see Mayhem (the female otter) yesterday!! It was right before I left due to the big storm that was coming. I didn’t know how long the storm would last, I tried to beat it home but got caught up in it.

The groundhog was a pretty funny story. I was walking down from monkeys to the children’s area to go to the night club to see if I could see the skunk and Meeko, another family was in front of me and they stopped and screamed as something jumped out from the bushes. It was a groundhog that looked at us for a while, the mom tried to slowly walk past it against the railing and it ran off. I did end up seeing Meeko just barely as I got there right when he was coming out from backstage and he jumped up on a big tub and went inside but didn’t know it was full of water and freaked out then ran backstage.

My two boys have been on c/d basically their entire lives after they had urinary issues. We switched to c/d multicare stress and that disagreed with one’s stomach so I’ve been buying gastrointestinal biome for a year and a half. I just switched back to c/d due to cost issues with my vets approval. I tried purina’s version but stopped immediately as my cat had big issues with it. I looked at my Chewy order history and a few years ago a bag was $83.99 and now it’s $121.99. I don’t have any stores nearby that sell it in person (my town has one petsmart but it doesn’t have a vet center so no prescription foods… the one 30 miles and one hour each way only carries medium sized bags). Does anyone have any tips on how to get a better deal on c/d? I get the 16.7lb bags as it is cheapest per pound (with auto ship set to every 8 months and manual reorder early when I run low) and have a reminder in my phone every three months to request coupons from hills which I can mail out to chewy (2x $10 off coupons). Is there anything else I can do? I’ve already used the $20 off discounts for setting up new auto ships at petsmart, Petco, etc… Thank you.

The Mayhem pictures weren’t that adorable but I found them fascinating as I could see the nictating membrane over her eyes that allow her to see while she is under water. I very rarely go over to that side of the zoo as I never see Mayhem when I go. I think I’ve seen her maybe 3 or 4 times but I got to see her today! I was so excited to see her!!

I also guess that this is the best place to post since r/otters got banned a while back (I still miss that sub)?

Doofah and Khyana doing a dangle nap today. I have about 30 pictures of it but these two were the best and they were all very similar or from slightly different angles. I absolutely love when they dangle. I can’t see Willow dangle as her inside habitat doesn’t have a good dangle spot and her big outdoor space isn’t visible to the public.

They look so adorable and peaceful having a nap. It looks so relaxing having their legs dangling down.

He says I shouldn’t have gotten a queen size bed as he is a king. The good thing is he is finally sleeping on the bed again with me. He stopped for a while as I had a small bed.

I sent Jacob an email last Sunday and got a not so friendly reply back Monday morning. I sent a reply and Monday at 4 pm I got a call from a Whisker employee saying they saw my email and wanted to chat about it to try to make things right. We chatted and it sounded like it was going well and they would call me back later with their solution. I got a call back this afternoon and their solution was offer the opportunity to return my 5 pro and maybe offer a discount on a 4 bundle. I used 3 referral credits so I’d be out an extra $300, I told them it doesn’t make sense to rebuy the 4 as I sold my accessories to get the 5 pro. They offered to comp a LR4 stairs kit too. I’d have to buy even more items like a new camera, mounting kit, hopper,… They said they see that I had a 5 hopper ordered and I could cancel the order or get 15% off and to email them back in a year after I activated my whisker+ membership to see about if they can offer a renewal discount. That’s it…

I really liked the hardware of the 5 and if it was like it was advertised then honestly I wouldn’t have any real problems and I would have been happy with my 5 pro. However this is supposed to be their top flagship device and when it came out it was unfinished and nearly 8 months later it’s still missing features and one of the features is now locked behind a subscription. Their website is still advertising that you can view the live feeds from the cameras for free and get two days of recordings but does not mention the internal camera is locked behind a paywall and the only mention of it is a post here on reddit that the company made.

Does anyone know of any other brands that are of any good quality and have a similar opening to the 5 pro? I found one that I liked however the opening is 5 inches smaller and my big cat likes to stand facing outwards and uses every inch of the 5 pro he can. I loved my 4 and if the 5 pro started out better I would have loved it too, but I can see u/litterrobot is changing even though they say they aren’t. Their support people are usually nice and great to talk to but it seems like they have been chasing the short term profits as they still have the advertising up leading you to believe you can get 2 day recordings from the internal camera. I hate to switch brands but being told to either switch brands, pay for a downgrade, or pay $100 for a upgrade to something that now requires a subscription and get $15 back isn’t a good option. I was going to reply to their email later tonight if I have time and can word it better without getting too worked up while writing it.
