What is happening to my brake disks? 2025 BRZ tS, Subaru, FA24
I installed new OEM brake pads myself over the weekend. The disk was completely uniform-ish looking for about 150 miles. Original brake discs
I noticed this first after I went to get some gas. I checked the other disks and they were fine. The right front disk had one old brake pad that I found out to be diagonally worn. The rest of the pads including the rear pads wore pretty much evenly to front/rear.
For about 100 miles I took it easy but the car felt incredible. First of all it feels faster to the butt dyno and that’s by surprise. And I felt absolutely invincible with any braking pressure like seriously it was on rails. My last alignment was about 2,000 miles ago and I haven’t hit any curbs.
So yeah suddenly the braking felt unconfident today. There are currently no vibrations with the pedal. No vibrations ever even before the pads were changed. I checked it out since I had to get gas and saw the discs. The I feel no abnormal vibrations. The brake fluid hasn’t been flushed yet,but it’s been about 14k miles on the fluid. I plan to flush it soon to go with the new pads. No vibrations before either but sometimes the pedal would feel like it got stuck in position. That happened about twice before I changed the pads. Random events too.
