The new player experience is so exhausting.

I just stated playing on the weekend and my gosh I have never felt more frustrated playing a new game before.

It's almost impossible to do anything against a hero that you don't know what their abilities do. You can't counterplay them if you don't know what they do, and for some reason there's no easy way to check what a hero does midgame. One of the reasons I learned Deadlock so fast is because I can check what my enemies heroes do at any point in the game just by pressing Tab, which is so convenient. Alt tabbing and going to a website isn't practical, and reading everyone's abilities beforehand isn't great either as you're bound to forget some, and if you don't read them all you're more than likely to face someone you didn't read. You just have to guess what they do based the extremely high visual clutter they put onto your screen. A recurring theme in this rant will be how much of learning League seems to be trial and error, which involves a lot of fucking yourself over and losing games which isn't fun.

The tutorial hardly teaches anything as well. It doesn't say anything about the towers taking a chunk of damage if you hit them after not hitting them for a while. It doesn't teach plates on the tower's health and how they give you gold/xp. I don't even think it teaches you about the different summoner spells (flash, ignite etc.) or fucking runes. I was just fiddling around in the menus when I found out about those. Soemthing that seems very important, I had to stumble across on accident to know about. And it also doesn't say that you have to get the last hit on the minions to actually get the XP/Gold. Which let me say, is a ridiculous mechanic. Having to get the last hit on a minion is genuinely one of the worst things I've seen in a video game. Maybe it gets better when I play more, but having to micro manage my fucking auto attacks to ensure I'm not bleeding XP/Gold on top of trying to learn everything else in the game is so overwhelming. There's only so much I can do. Having to try to get a last hit on top of trying to figure out what the enemy hero does on top of trying to look at the map for vision all at once is just impossible. If I ignore last hits I lose XP, enemy lane gets ahead and I'm losing lane. If I focus on last hits, I'm gonna fuck something up and die, enemy lane gets ahead and I'm losing lane.

And the matchmaking doesn't do any justice either. Both in Swiftplay and normal Unranked, I'm constantly put with and against experienced players who know everything about the game and it's not fun for anyone. My teammates are upset because I'm basically feeding, the enemies just get to noob stomp one hero all game and snowball that into a win, and I'm supposed to be learning the game when I spend most of my time dead. I get it. The game is extremely old so there's not many new players here. But I'd much rather wait 30 minutes in queue to get into a game with other new players then spend 30 minutes getting fucked over all game. I've been playing mid (Ahri) basically all the time, and while it's sort of fun, getting killed everytime I try to do anything is just not fun. It's exhausting. It's frustrating. It's been over a decade since the game came out, so I know new players are rare and riot don't care about them. But surely there's more they can do them shoving me into a lobby full of experienced players and saying "go figure it out yourself mate idk fuck you". They could at least update the tutorial to include more things.

The game seems very fun, and I think I'm going to enjoy it a lot more than I actually understand anything that's going on. But my gosh this sucks.

What should I be using on Ahri?

I'm new to League, just started on the weekend after getting my PC. I really enjoy playing Ahri but this rune stuff is confusing me (as are most things in this game). Is this okay? I also use Flash/Ignite, sometimes Flash/TP.

How do I select a target?

Noob question, I just started playing the game. I was trying to use the Unleashed Teleport thing earlier today and I couldn't get it to work at all. I was pressing the button and clicking on my teammate but nothing happened.

Also why soemtimes I can't use ability? I have mana and it's not on cooldown but soemtimes I press the ability button and it doesn't do anything.

How strict are the lanes in League?

I come from playing Deadlock and in DL once you've taken their Guardian (equivalent of Outer Turret I believe) you pretty much completely abandon your lane and just go wherever you need to regardless of where that is. There's also no set lane roles. Some heroes are a little better on certain lanes but mostly each hero can play each lane. The only exception is carry heroes like Seven and Warden tend to just sit in the side lanes alone and farm waves and jungle camps.

Is the laning stricter in League? I've been playing a lot of Mid, mostly Ahri. Am I allowed to leave mid whenever I want to or am I expected to stay mid and keep pressuring their turrets?

Can't find Expo in my BIOS.

I found a setting that manually lets me set my RAM to whatever speed I want up to 6000, but there's no EXPO setting. I have an ASRock B850 motherboard.

Need help swapping Left Click and Right Click.

I swapped the binds from Button 2 to Button 1 in the input.ini file, and set that file to read only, however that doesn't work still. I've heard to delete persistedsettings.json file but when I delete it, it comes back when I re-launch League. Anyone have an idea how to swap them? I just want move and auto attack to be left click.

1080p 240hz or 1440p 144hz?

I have a 5060ti (16gb), and I mainly play competitive games like Overwatch, Deadlock, League etc. but I sometimes (not often) play other games like Warframe and FFXIV.

How similar is this game to Deadlock?

I want to start playing League but the only experience I have with MOBAs is Deadlock. What are the main differences between the 2 games? I know there's the thing vision thing which doesn't make much sense to me right now.

Yoshi after making Graves and Victor OP so people stop complaining about McGinnis:

Luckily for him, I won't ever stop complaining about her.

how fun it is to solo ult someone with their own ult as sinclair

NOTES:

Dynamo would be higher if not for the long cooldown

Shiv would be higher if you could execute him with it

Haze and Mina would be higher if their passives worked

Viscous would be a little higher if I was good with the ball

Rem should probably have a higher tier of his own it's so damn good

This is by far my favourite Genji skin but I hate how it doesn't match with his mythic weapon.

It's such a clean design and looks great, but the colours don't match with the red of his mythic weapon. Right now I'm just using Volcanic (red recolour of Ice Wraith) and Nihon. Sometimes Genjiman too if I feel silly.

Why do they ask 2 questions at once?

It makes it a little hard to answer. Dynamo's 1 and 4 are both CC abilities which puts the score down, but his 3 also heals which puts it up.

I got asked this about Kelvin and I literally didn't know what to put. Kelvin's kit is fully just cc and healing, which I guess makes it a 3 in the middle?

Is stadium actually faster for this?

Does the double progress make up for the longer matches?
