Honest question - how much of the Darren Raddysh success story this year was from playing with JJ Moser?

I've always had the thought that Moser made Raddysh look good with his defensively responsible play which unlocked Raddysh to be the offense guy (at least on 5v5 even strength).

Edit: just wanted to add in that Raddysh was a guy who struggled to break a lineup or get decent minutes in previous years, gets paired with Moser, and turns out to be a superstar.

After this season, do you think Will Smith is more set being with Celebrini and immune to 'lineup shakeups' or not completely?

This year he played with Celebrini basically the whole year but there were times where he was moved away from Celebrini (but it happened more last year).

Realistically, what's it going to take for Brandt Clarke to have more minutes/opportunity like the future star defenseman everyone but the coaches know that he is?

Scenarios:

  • New coach who understands how valuable Clarke is?
  • Doughty's retirement?
  • Moving out a D out?

Brock Boeser really turned it on in the second half of the year after a disappointing first half and, interestingly, after the Quinn Hughes trade.

Maybe he didn't 'turn it on' or simply more 'regressed to the mean'. I found it interesting that he didn't seem to be affected as much by Quinn leaving.

From January 4, 2026 - middle of the season

  • 1st half of season - 9 goals/9 assists = 18 points in 39 games - 37 point pace
  • 2nd half of season - 13 goals/17 assists = 30 points in 36 games - 68 point pace (30 goals)

Is this Elfyn's year?

He is ahead of 2nd by 12 points. He almost had won the WRC title in 2020 and 2025 but lost in the final race. Or is he going to find a way to finish second again?

How accurate was the British Bomber Command's Night Bombing Campaign from when it started until the end of WW2?

I know they switched to night bombing because of heavy daytime losses.

The Complete History of Dr. Kelso - I found this on YouTube which shows through the character arc from Season 1 to Season 8.

I thought it was worth a watch, brings back memories of moments in episodes I had forgotten about.

I think of Dr Kelso kinda like how I think of Pete Campbell from Mad Men - where over the course of the series, he’s the one you cheer for the most.

Age of Sail: Can a Razee Frigate be considered in Ship of the Line terms as a "battlecruiser" in WW1 considering they were intended for speed and up-gunned to hunt smaller ships.

Note that I realize that razee frigates were not originally designed as purpose built ships but converted out of frigates that couldn't match newer ships of the line (WW1 battlecruisers were obviously purpose built ships).

Do you ever wonder about how much more Life would have won if he kept playing in Sc2 assuming he didn't take part in the fixing matches scandal?

Considering he is thought one of the best Sc2 players ever back in 2016.

  • Season 1 - 1984
  • Season 2 - 1986
  • Season 3 - 1991 (Mitton left after Season 2 and did TUGS and came back)
  • Season 4 - 1995
  • Season 5 - 1998 (With them starting to do production of TATMR)

In today's environment of profit maximization, it's rare that kids shows would take such big break in-between (adult shows do this now where a show may take 2-3 years to produce the next season of some premier show).

Once they were cranking out a season of 26 episodes per year, the quality declined because the love and care wasn't the same.

Note: I hope that this question goes beyond the "typical cost-plus vs fixed-price contract" answer.

I am a reader of UK railway history and there was a bit in a book that I'm struggling to find but the message was:

  • During WW1, the British government compensated the various UK rail companies (under state control) based on their net income in financial year 1913.
  • During WW2, the British government paid an annual rental payment to the big 4 railway companies (SR, LMS, LNER, GWR).
  • From my understanding, the WW2 arrangement was not very favourable compared to the WW1 arrangement and the railway companies suffered for it (maintenance delayed, worn out engines being kept far longer than normal, etc). The book claimed that the government wasn't fighting far with the railway companies but I assume the government was just finding ways of cutting costs.

But it goes the other way as well because I have read through this subreddit that Krupp in WW1 squeezed the German navy for all they could, via lobbying the German government to pay full price for the material that the German navy needed (aka no discounts based on quantity bought).

To make things more recent, Boeing wrote off billions of dollars on their VC-25 Program due to direct negotiations with President Trump (first term) and naturally the US President won the negotiations https://breakingdefense.com/2023/10/air-force-one-replacement-tops-2b-in-charges-as-boeing-logs-new-losses/

Before his crash, Lauda was leading Hunt comfortably by 23 points and in the 3 races he missed (including Germany and the 2 after where he was in hospital), James gained 21 points on Niki with 2 wins and a 4th place. I know the popular narrative is that it was the party boy David vs Goliath but Goliath wasn't on full form after the crash - he retired in Japan because he couldn't see through the spray (a leftover from his crash in Germany).

Is it fair to say that Lauda would have won had he not missed time? Probably but we don't know for sure. This is an age of F1 where drivers did die, Rindt died during the year in 1970 and still won the championship. Pironi was leading by 9 points in 1982 when he crashed heavily but non fatally in Germany in arguably the fastest car that year.

It establishes the sound of the series and everything is fresh/new. We don't talk about it as much as other parts of the show but the music is just as much a character in the show as anything else.

Season 1 Volume 2, Season 2, and Season 4 come close to Season 1 Volume 1 but don't match it.

Hood, Nelson, Rodney, Anson, Howe, Barham are the only admirals to get their names on the largest capital ships. I am not arguing Nelson.

Other admirals who got their names on less important ships:

  • Jervis got a destroyer
  • Hawke got a protected cruiser (most notable for crashing into RMS Olympic (Titanic's sister).
  • Drake got an armored cruiser
  • Cochrane got an armored cruiser
  • Blake got a protected cruiser and a light cruiser (post ww2)
  • Fisher, Jellicoe, and Beatty haven't gotten anything yet - Fisher being the most surprising since he brought the RN kicking and screaming into the dreadnought age.
  • I assume that Cunningham and Somerville are too recent for names.
