Aside from Daria, Celebrity Deathmatch, and Downtown. They came back a decade later, but only for one season. Now its all about Ridiculousness.
MTV was never the same after Beavis and Butthead went off air in the late 90s
Save for Daria, TRL, Jackass, VMAs, Laguna Beach, The Hills, Awkwardness and Teen Wolf which were decent programmings at the time. Yes they came back a decade later but for only one season. Now all MTV is about Ridiculousness.

Mike Judge must've rewatched the ending of the Christmas episode
Since Mike Judge ended Beavis and Butthead and MTV stopped airing reruns, he must've rewatched the ending of "It's A Miserable Life" where Butt-head said "The World would such even worst without us." Then he realized how everything in the world went to shit when they stopped airing them. So that's why he decide to bring them back in the 2020s.
