Which character became funnier the older you got?
I used to think certain characters were just idiots, then rewatching later made me realise how painfully accurate some of them actually are.
What purchase genuinely improved your quality of life enough to feel worth every penny?
Mine was finally buying a decent mattress after years of pretending cheap ones were fine. One of the least exciting but best financial decisions I made.
What artist unexpectedly won over the entire crowd when you saw them live?
I always love those festival sets where people only casually know the artist beforehand, then leave thinking they completely stole the weekend. Which act surprised you the most live?
What’s the most misleading thing people online say about moving to the UK?
reddit.comHonest question for people who moved to the UK from a warmer country. Did you actually get used to the weather or did you just get better at pretending
Third winter done. Still not sure which category I am in. Some days it genuinely does not bother me. Some days I cannot explain to anyone back home why I am here voluntarily. Where are you on this after however long you have been here?
Are internships and career prep something you need to start thinking about from year one, or is that overkill?
I’ve just started uni and I keep hearing mixed advice about internships and career prep. Some people say you should be thinking about it right from year one, while others say it’s way too early and you should just focus on settling in first. Curious what the actual reality is and when people really started taking it seriously.
The UK is genuinely easier to live in than people online make it sound and also genuinely harder than the official information suggests and both things are true simultaneously
Read every forum before moving. Half of it was people describing a bureaucratic nightmare that would break you. Half of it was official guidance that made everything sound straightforward. Reality landed somewhere that neither version quite captured. The NHS is slower to access than advertised but more reliable once you are in. The housing market is harder than any forum post prepared me for. The people are warmer than the reputation but on a delay. Two years in and still finding things that surprise me in both directions. What is the thing about living here that turned out to be better than you expected and the thing that turned out to be worse?
The art of finding out where something is actually happening on a Saturday night without being that person who asks too early or too directly is a genuine London skill
There is a specific etiquette to it. You do not ask on Wednesday. You do not ask someone who clearly does not know. You follow the right accounts, you know which group chats move fastest, you have learned which areas of which apps are reliable and which are noise. And then at about 11pm something clicks into place and suddenly everyone knows and you are either already heading or you have missed the window. How long did it take you to actually learn how London raving actually works and what was the thing that finally made it click?
What is the DJ set you witnessed in London that you still think about and that you would struggle to describe to someone who was not there because the experience was so specific to being in that room at that moment?
Not a famous set that got recorded and shared everywhere. The one that existed only for the people who were present. The one where the room, the sound, the moment and the music aligned in a way that cannot be recreated or fully explained after the fact. What was it ?
Is living near UCL worth the extra rent cost?
I’m trying to work out whether paying more to stay close to campus actually improves day to day life enough to justify it, or if commuting from further out is more realistic financially.
What is the single best doner kebab you have ever eaten in your life, where was it, and have you ever been able to find anything that came close since?
reddit.comOld Gregg, the Crack Fox, the Spirit of Jazz, Saboo, Tony Harrison. Who is the greatest supporting character and what is the actual case against your answer?
reddit.comBus and tram passengers in London will be able to travel all day at weekends for the price of a single fare during the summer holidays.

Some pics I took these past few years in London, shot on IPhone 14. I’m super amateur as a photographer but learning and love this city. I hope you enjoy :)
The difference between people who started investing in their twenties and people who started in their forties is so large over a thirty year horizon that it probably deserves to be taught in schools and the fact that it is not seems like a significant gap?
The compound growth numbers are not complicated. They are just large enough that they do not feel real until you run them. Someone starting at twenty two with a modest monthly contribution and someone starting at forty two with a much larger one often end up in surprisingly similar positions and the early starter frequently wins despite contributing less in absolute terms. Has anyone here had the conversation that actually made this click for someone who had been delaying starting 😔
Is he alive? Yes and today is his birthday which means this sub has its most important day of the entire year 🎂
Checked this morning before my alarm had even finished. Alive confirmed. Birthday confirmed. Sat with that information for a moment. Felt genuinely emotional about it in a way I cannot fully justify to anyone who does not use this sub. This is our Super Bowl. This is our Champions League final. Happy birthday to the only man the entire internet agrees on 🌍
