Why did they change the classic Nitro setup in 1999?
The new setup seemed more expensive, so it couldn’t be cost cutting efforts. The classic setup had so much personality to it, and the new one was generic & lifeless

How did that come about exactly? Did they have do anything? Anyone remember the username?
Those two guys were entertaining as all hell. They were on TV a lot too. I took this Sporcle quiz recently (I did alright) about most Nitro appearances and Alex had 108 while La Parka had 43.
When you take into account Thunder, Saturday Night, Worldwide, and Pro (all shows the main event scene rarely worked) then their numbers have to be through the roof.
Both guys were good workers, with whacky characters that were over with the crowd. Alex Wright with the eurotrash “fun boy” gimmick, and La Parka with the hardcore luchador gimmick.
Das Wunderkind & The Chairman of WCW — two of my absolute favorites as a kid.
☝️Especially in WCW/nWo Revenge as La Parka came out with a chair, and Wright’s extra long troll taunt where he just dances were 15 seconds recharged your health…and pissed off your friends. Mine would yell “oh just fucking pin me already” as I chose to instead dance over their lifeless bodies 💩💩💩
These are the results of a sporcle quiz, that asked people to name the wrestlers w/ most Nitro Appearances. As you can see, asides from Jarrett who was also there during the 83 Week run, the first Russo guy to appear on the list is Mike Awesome at number 57..just below Scotty Riggs of all people.
Wow, Buff Bagwell is probably going to win the WCW title this year.
