Today I learned that the entire concept of The Bubble Guppies series, was inspired specifically by the Viking Voyage episode of The Backyardigans

Now, I already knew that Janice Burgess, the creator of the Backyardigans (may she rest in peace 🕊️), was also one of the three developers of The Bubble Guppies.

However, what I didn't know was that the creators of The Bubble Guppies, Robert Scull and Jonny Belt, were also executive producers of The Backyardigans alongside Janice Burgess. And Belt and Scull got the idea for Bubble Guppies whilst working on the Voyage Vikings episode and seeing Tasha as a mermaid gave them the idea for a preschooler's show of a group of mermaid kids who go to school and learn about basic stuff and sing about it.

And that's how The Bubble Guppies came to be.

With the Hello Kitty Movie being made by Warner Bros Studio, do you think we could POTENTIALLY get a Hello Kitty/Sanrio collab with Tom & Jerry and/or Looney Tunes?

I mean, I could totally see this happening. Especially if they collabed with specifically the Gokko versions.

I think this would be really cute and fun. What do you think?

You know how there's those jars of honey that look like little bears? Well, you can get official Winnie the Pooh honey. And it's shaped like Winnie the Pooh.

I just thought this was so adorably whimsical and I just wanted to share it with you.

Where did "counting sheeps" to try to help you fall asleep at night even originate from?

Like, why specifically sheep? And why are they jumping over a fence? Like, every single visual depiction I've seen of counting sheep, they're jumping over a small fence.

Wqlking around my local Target– I found weighted Bluey plushies.

Paiing the town purple today 💜🪻🧚🏾‍♀️

I woke up today with a sense of adventure. So I got dressed in my favorite color, and I'm heading to my favorite place to find adventure - my public library!

I personally don't think there is a color quite as whimsical and magical as purple. Nor is there a place as magical as the public library.

I hope you all have a magical Monday! ✨

What would you call this specific Halloween aesthetic?

I was born in 2004, so the vibes of 2000s/Early 2010s Halloween season is my favorite.

I'm not really a "horror" girl, I am more into the playful, Whimsical side of Halloween. Like, Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, Twitches, Monster High.

Those cozy, playful, fun Halloween vibes. I want to find this specific Halloween aesthetic.

Whatever this kind of Halloween this is, I want Halloween to feel like this again

How it feels like knowing I will be 24 years old going to see the Hello Kitty movie in theaters by myself just because I love Hello Kitty and Sanrio:

Something I've wondered since I was like, 11. What does The Man in the Yellow Hat do for work?

Whatever it is, he's wealthy enough to have a nice penthouse apartment and a house in the countryside.

And I don't think he was ever shown at work in any media. At least, not any of the Curious George media I've seen. Which is only the original picture books, the first movie, and the animated PBS Kids series.

What day is the D23 Fairies Panel?

I heard that for the first time in over 10 years, there will be a full panel for the Disney Fairies and Tinkerbell this year at D23.

Does anyone know what day it is? I'm super excited to hear the news!

Do you think it's a new project announcement? Or update if the animated series that was announced?

Despite what most people think, I believe blind bag figures count as trinkets. And here's one I got yesterday

I found this blind bag in the clearance section of my local Walmart yesterday. This was made by Moriah Elizabeth, one of my favorite YouTubers. She is known for making these fun, playful, adorable characters. And I got the figure I wanted the most, Unice the Unicorn Bear, and I made her into a cute little bag charm for my everyday purse! 😊

Adorable little unicorn figure that I made into a bag charm/keychain

I got this cute figure in a blind bag made by popular art YouTuber, Moriah Elizabeth. I thought it'd make for a really cute bag charm and now she can hang on my everyday crossbody and go with me everywhere

✨Act of Whimsy of the Day✨: turning a cute blind bag figure into a bag charm!

Yesterday whilst at my local Walmart, I went down the clearance section, and I found some blind bags from one of my all time favorite YouTubers, Moriah Elizabeth, and I brought one home with me.

If you don't know who Moriah Elizabeth is, she is an artist YouTuber who is best known for being the originator of the Squishy Makeover trend, and she makes all sorts of fun, playful whimsical characters, and for a couple years now she has made blind bag figures and plushies of some of her most beloved characters!

I got this adorable little bear named Unice who loves Unicorns. And I decided she was so cute and she would be perfect for a bag charm! And so I poked a hole in the back of her head with a push pin, and twisted an eyelet screw in the hole, and added a chain and fun star clip, plus a pink star pendant. And now she can go everywhere with me on my everyday purse!

What do you think? 😊

New Kuromi just dropped on the Tokidoki site!

This is part of a new collaboration between Tokidoki and Kuromi (Cinnamoroll too, but I posted the Cinnamoroll stuff on the main Sanrio subreddit), and it features her in cute costumes.

I like how she has the more spookier costumes, considering she is the Halloween girl and her birthday is on Halloween.

Which one is your favorite? I love her as the witch the best.

These seem to be online exclusives, at least for now anyhow, on the Tokidoki website.

New Tokidoki x Kuromi and Cinnamoroll collection just dropped

They include both pins and plushies of the two Sanrio characters dressed up in different costumes and outfits themed after different TokiDoki lines such as Unicorno, After Dark, and Donutella and her sweet friends.

These are presumably online exclusives on the Tokidoki website. But these are all really cute! Which one is your favorite? Mine are personally Cinnamon dressed as Stellina and Kuromi as a Mystic witch

I'm a simple girl. If it comes in strawberry flavor, it immediately becomes my favorite. Or one of my favorites, at least.

Ultra Strawberry Dreams is one of my top 3 favorite monster flavors.

Some people say it's too sweet. But I have a gargantuan sweet and I have yet to find anything to be too sweet for me.

There isn't anything wrong with the way the Hot Topic store/franchise is nowadays and people who are hating or bashing on it are (most likely)blinded by nostalgia.

I have seen way too many people online complaining about Hot Topic selling too much Sanrio (aka Hello Kitty) stuff or Wicked stuff or Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss merch or Disney stuff, etc.

Those people are always like "why is there so much Hello Kitty stuff in Hot Topic nowadays?" "There's way too much Hazbin Hotel merch in Hot Topic, why?"

Geez, I don't know! Maybe because it's a store literally called HOT TOPIC, and they prioritize selling merch and stuff for things that are popular and hot. And you know what's really been popular and hot in recent years? Freaking Sanrio and Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss! So why wouldn't a store whose purpose is to sell stuff that is popular at the moment not sell stuff like Hello Kitty, Kuromi, Hazbin Hotel, etc? .

"But Hot Topic was originally a store for alt people!", it still is. It never stopped being a store for alt people. Alternative does not just mean dark and broody and emo and goth. Kawaii culture is considered alt. Pastel goth or kawaii goth is still alt. Sanrio fits the alt aesthetic. Alt is just an umbrella term for several different subcategories and different styles.

But anyhoodle, that's my two cents and my unpopular opinion of the day. Hope you have a good day 😊

Pt 2 of my post yesterday. Meant to make this followup yesterday after I got home... But I was tired and instead I just plopped on my bed and slept for 5 hrs straight

So yesterday, I had that doctor's appointment, and afterwards I treated myself to Jason's Deli for lunch. I ordered my favorite sandwich there: the Bigger Better BLT with Pepperjack cheese (I believe it's actually called "habanero jack" but the menu says pepperjack), and aioli sauce. I haven't been able to go to the local Jason's Deli for several months, not since last year because of my knee and having to get surgery on it.

The waitress who helped serve me today gave me a free chocolate chip cookie just because she missed me and was so happy to see me again after so long. How sweet is that!! I love chocolate chip cookies!! So that was a lovely little glimmer moment in my day. ☺️

After lunch I went and did some window shopping. I first went and checked out the GameStop a couple stores down, then Bath and Body Works because I know they're starting to put out their fall stuff now (and they were, but it was still a lot of summer stuff so I planned to come back on another day), and after Bath and Body Works, I went down the way to Ross, because it felt like something was waiting for me there.

And I was right. Kinda.

I brought home a trinket.

Well, it's kinda a trinket. It is a new addition to my collection. I found this Kuromi figure from the JazWares Hello Kitty and Friends Dreamland collection! I already had two of the 4, so obviously I brought Kuromi home with me! Plus she was only 5 dollars, which is a great bargain compared to the 15 dollars I paid for the other two in my collection when I bought them from Walmart!

After Ross, I walked across the street to Walmart to buy me a couple of refreshing drinks. A Clear American strawberry flavored water and an Ultra Strawberry Dreams Monster from the fridge.

Finally, I walked back home.

But yeah! All in all yesterday was a good day! But I am glad I can do absolutely nothing but stay comfy in bed and watch TV all day to rest. 😊

Brought home the Kuromi Dreamland figure for my collection.

I found her at Ross for only $4.99. She was in the toys section and she was the only figure there.

Now I just need My Melody to complete the collection. I love these figures so much!
