Personally i'd have us never actually see them in person just their technology and a ships. They show up to blow the reavers up and we never see them. I'd make them kinda protoss like as well at least in ship desgin terms.

Carmelita herself is utterly dumbfounded by this when the gang is just let go like it's nothing after she finaly caught them and just stutters like Candace
