I picked up a diamondback Kalamar at the thrift store last week like new for 50 bucks.​ The seat that came on it hurt like heck. ​​ I did some research and it said the two most comfortable seats were bikeroo and Cloud 9. My old bike had a Schwinn gray and black beach cruiser seat on that was pretty comfortable. That bike was stolen so I don't have the seat to try it on my new bike. ​​ I ordered a bikeroo for $13.49 off Amazon and got it yesterday. Super poor workmanship. The seat cover is cockeyed and coming apart. Figured I'd at least install it to see how it feels before returning it for a refund. ​​ I can tell you instantly it felt a million times better but the nose seems to be rubbing on my bones in the "taint" area. I drew a picture so maybe someone can help me out with suggesting adjustments or maybe I just need to try another seat? When i first got on the bike I didn't notice any pain but after I got about a hundred yards it started hurting where the dark circles are in my drawing. I thought I had the seat tilted all the way forward but maybe I can tilt it a little bit more so the nose is not contacting that area of my body? FYI i am almost 6'2" with super long legs with a 42" waist. Should I be trying a different seat or...?

During construction, I noticed these new symbols indicating where I should ride. I appreciate the detour, but LOL! Who drew these!?! I love them.

I got blocked trying to get on the Brooklyn Bridge and went around to the steps instead. I watched the evacuation from the Brooklyn tower. I saw both buildings fall. They kicked us off the bridge around 1130. I went to the Waterfront Alehouse on Atlantic and waited with all my friends to see who did not show up. Not everyone made roll call.

Misplaced my stupid ACS freewheel tool and needed to remove and reinstall this one ASAP. Used a Phil Wood bb tool and short lengths of a 14g spoke. Spun right off. 😅

Thought this was pretty funny.

Found this posted inside a Midtown garage yesterday. Bicycle parking: capacity 6.

Flat rate $22.96 for any 10 hours, monthly $229.62 — which works out to exactly

$25/day and $250/month once you add the 8.875% tax.

Some context I've been digging into:

1. It's mandatory. NYC Admin Code requires any licensed garage with 51+

vehicle spaces to provide bike parking — one bike space per ten car spaces. They also

have to file their bike rates with the city and post them publicly, which is why this

sign exists.

2. Nobody can tell you which ones have room. I called a major operator's corporate line

and asked. The answer was "go to the garage and check."

3. The staff don't know either. When I went to this garage, the attendant told me they

don't have bike parking. He was standing about ten feet from this sign.

Has anyone here actually parked in a garage? Did you know it was an option?

And generally — where do you park during the workday, and has your bike been taken?

**Disclosure: I'm looking into building something here. Not selling anything, just trying

to work out whether this is a real problem or only mine. Happy to report back what I find.
