I live in a 3 bed 3 bath house. I share with my roommates. I get a text saying we all need to stay in room for her zoom call. In the middle of her call I left to go see my friend and I walked out the door by the kitchen where she was doing her zoom. She was upset that I used to door near the kitchen which was not even in the frame for her zoom. She said I was distracting. I just told her flat out the kitchen is a common area we pay for and she can do her interview in her room with a kitchen green screen feature on zoom if she wants complete privacy. But if I need to use our door to leave I will. AITAH?
Edit: This is the only door in the house. The house is in an apartment complex listed as a “townhome” option. It is slightly larger than the apartments and has two levels but there is no backyard or multiple doors.

I said apartment on accident in the title because our town house is technically in an apartment complex. So I switched between home and apartment when talking.

I’m not sure if this is a genuine mental health issue, but I have lived with this girl from my algebra class for a couple years now and she keeps saying how rich she’s going to be… she keep saying this over and over again and has the past years but refuses to get a job and can barely pay rent. I want to help her if it’s a genuine mental health situation, but I don’t know how to bring it up in a way that isn’t condescending.

I love where I live and I love my roommates! One of my roommates gets so caught up in hustle culture that it gives her panic attacks. She loves to constantly be networking or working. She is one of the hardest workers I know but I wish she would take a step back and realize how beautiful life is. She tells me all the time she’s accomplished all her goals that she wanted to have done by now and does not feel good still. The goal should be enjoying life and work to live not live to work. I hope she finds a non stressful job eventually!

To preface this my roommates and I live in SoCal so it is warm during the summer. I have 5 roommates… almost each one of us likes the ac around 70-72 degrees day or night.

One of my roommates hates the heat. She claims it affects her “bodily autonomy.” Though I understand this my roommate and I have been freezing every night because she likes to keep it at 65°. We sat down and talked to her about this, and she was really upset and felt like we were threatening her bodily autonomy and that she shouldn’t have to wake up with greasy hair because she is sweating.

She said that we should just wear clothes while we’re sleeping and keep our window open. All of us wear thick pajamas while sleeping and keep our windows open yet the air is still freezing. We told her to potentially get a fan. She says she had a fan, but she threw it away. She says she doesn’t wanna spend any money on a fan because she “doesn’t have any money” yet? She doesn’t have a problem cranking down the AC that makes the AC bill super expensive.

We all have talked to her and she keeps complaining when we keep the AC at 70° and she refuses to buy any kind of fan or cooling mattress. What would you do in this situation? If she’s really unhappy, she can gladly move out, but I don’t think she’ll do that and I really like her as a person. I just find it a bit frustrating that everyone likes the AC at a certain temperature and we’re trying to all compromise she just won’t budge. We even tried putting it at 69° and that still wasn’t good enough for her.

Also, her room is around 65 and gets the coldest so when it’s 70 for us so she wants it to feel 60 in her room. I am not an unreasonable person, I’ve heard of people shutting off the AC to save money and I am not doing that to her so I don’t know why we can’t find a solution. In the past, I also gave her one of my really good fans and she threw it out. 😭

Hi! I’m a graduate student working on completing a masters degree in criminal justice. I hold a bachelors degree as well. I am very interested in applying to Texas A&M’s law school test optional. With having over a 4.0 GPA in both undergraduate and graduate studies would I be a good candidate to apply test optional? Or would you recommend just going about applying after taking the LSAT. One thing to note, I’m not the best standardized test taker and I get very nervous taking big exams so that’s why I’m thinking of applying test optional. I just don’t want my LSAT to potentially hurt my application.

Hello! I am very interested in doctorate programs at Oklahoma State University involving criminal justice, forensics or crime analysis.
What is the acceptance rate to the online doctorate in forensics?

My problem is that I do not have work experience that would be in the forensics field, but I have a bachelors degree in criminal justice and a masters degree in crime analysis. Would I be able to go straight into the doctorate of forensics? I’m slightly confused about the work experience requirement. Also, I know certain degrees transfer over credits at the masters level. Would credits from my masters in crime analysis transfer over to the doctorate in forensics?

Is anyone else on this thread in a relationship? I have been in a relationship for almost 3 years and I love my partner very much. Even though I love my partner, I don’t like to see them all the time because that stresses me out.

I like to have a lot of time to myself.
Ironically, though, I feel less pressure to hang out with my friends but I love seeing them. I don’t like to be around my friends all the time, though I need time to emotionally decompress and be by myself and have silent time.

Those who have stopped and grown hair picking how did you do it. I have had days where I’ve sat and picked Ingrown hairs the same one specifically for hours…. I just feel like if I stop a bump will grow because that’s what’s happened when I stopped before….

How do I stop this bad habit?

If there’s one thing about me, the one thing that I do not let slide is people not keeping their word…

My boyfriend told me months ago he would pay for a life-changing medical procedure that he has the money for easily.

He brought this up himself and told me that he wanted to pay for the procedure and it would be about $5000…

I obviously would never ask for him to pay for this, but we have been together for years and he surprise me randomly by saying he was going to pay for the procedure because he knew that it would make a huge impact on my life…

I was so excited because this was huge news as I was not able to afford the procedure. Now that it’s time for to pay for the procedure he wants to back out. My issue is not with him not paying. It’s the fact that he is not keeping his word. Why would he even surprise me by making a promise to me that he would pay for a procedure and telling me how he would pay for it and then now deciding that he doesn’t want to?

I would totally understand if he gave me a valid reason that he came into some kind of financial turmoil or distress, but he just told me that he never planned on paying for the procedure… he was just saying it. That’s what I think what made be the most angry because how can I ever trust him now?
AITAH for telling him I don’t want to be with him anymore if he cannot keep his promises and makes promises without wanting to keep them?

Edit: he told me that I don’t love him since I’m holding him to this and that I don’t care about him and then I’m scummy…..

I have undergone lots of laser treatments that were ablative… in normal every day lighting. My skin looks good in my opinion and other others say that they have seen an improvement as well.

I noticed though in certain lighting, especially overhead bathroom lights my skin looks 10 times worse and the acne scars look sunken in certain spots that it doesn’t normally look in regular every day lighting.

Does anyone else have this happen to them because it feels like I’ve made so much improvement except in the odd lighting scenario.
