How to exit a conversation?

Last week I was sitting doing my homework and my roommate had a friend over…. This friend has been over before and is a huge fan of small talk….

She tried talking to me about becoming a social media influencer, and how she was going to be become a lawyer, but social media influencing was more her style. I really cannot handle conversations that are this surface level and meanwhile she’s not doing anything to become a social media influencer because I asked my roommate after she got home from hanging out with her. I feel like I politely ended the conversation by just saying I needed to continue my homework, but how can I exit a conversation like this before it even starts?

Codependency in friendship

I don’t understand how people are codependent in friendships? I love my independent alone time and just being alone with my thought thoughts so when I hear someone say they want a codependent friendship where they hang out all the time I get very confused what the purpose is?

AITAH for getting annoyed with my roommate for basically having a codependent friendship with a girl who sleeps over every night and that friend brings a guy over to sleep on our couch every night…(never the same guy)

Am I the asshole for getting frustrated with my roommate for letting people who I do not know live in our apartment rent free?

I would not be frustrated at all if my friend had just her friend over every night honestly because that doesn’t affect me but the new guy on the couch….no

Roommate keeps bringing a friend over everyday and the friend brings new guys over every night to sleep on couch

How do I get this to stop? I’m tired of waking up and seeing a new man every day on the couch. I love my roommate, but the friend she brings over has some questionable men over.

Am I in the wrong for being annoyed as she is there every night with a new guy and it’s not like they pay rent since they r my roommate’s friends.

Also, this girl cries when confronted so I’m not too sure how to go about this.

As a recruiter would you say that the restaurant industry is slow getting back to people even after their second interview?

I had my second interview at the Hillstone in Cali. They told me they’d give me a call within the day and it’s almost the end of the day since I did my Hillstone interview for Cali Hillstone. Does this mean I didn’t get a job or did they normally call back at the last minute?

Has anyone ever met someone who claims to be extremely Christian and religious but everyday choose the opposite of what they claim they believe. I know someone who constantly talks about how she’s a saved Christian and wants to live life as Jesus would want. She is hypocritical though and it’s hard to even respond in a conversation when they say something so hypocritical…. For example, constantly saying that she wants to have random hook ups and how Jesus allows for it, but also condemning people who sleep around is very odd to me….

Why would she be condemning people who do that but then does that herself. I don’t want to be judgemental . I really don’t care what she does but to bring down others while she’s doing the same thing it’s just wrong. Also she talks about how she loves the church services She goes to as it excuses her bad behavior during the week she claims….

I
just don’t even know how to respond in a conversation when she makes a hypocritical comment.
As someone who is a Christian and believes that people make mistakes and believe in not judging others, I just don’t understand hypocrites because how can you judge others and put yourself on a pedestal? She also started shaming someone for not being a Christian in claimed. She would be so scared if they were them because they’re going to hell…
In my opinion, that is just a really rude comment to make and honestly a very ignorant comment…. The Lord tells us to do onto others as you would want done to you and I would not like it if someone told me I was going to hell and I don’t think she would like it if she was told that either.

Also, everyone makes mistakes but why judge them for it and I am not trying to judge her at all for her behavior. I just don’t think that she’s bringing down others and I wanted to know if anyone had any scenarios similar to this and what they would do.

▲ 3 r/lunch

I like to eat healthy foods for an affordable cost, but it’s hard to find good lunches for work as I don’t like to pay to get takeout for lunch and my workplace doesn’t have a microwave in the break room so it’s hard to come up with food ideas. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
