Anil Kochhar honors his late father—an immigrant who studied textile manufacturing in 1946—by wiping away the student debt for NC State’s entire graduating textiles class.

During their commencement ceremony, around 200 graduates at NC State University’s Wilson College of Textiles received the ultimate graduation gift: complete freedom from their final-year student loans. The surprise announcement was made by commencement speaker Anil Kochhar, who, alongside his wife Marilyn, wiped the debt clean.

The incredible gesture was a tribute to Anil’s late father, Prakash Chand Kochhar. Arriving from Punjab in 1946, Prakash was just the second student of Indian origin to attend NC State. He went on to turn his textile manufacturing degree into a massive business empire. By clearing the financial hurdles for the class of 2026, Anil and Marilyn wanted to ensure the next generation of graduates has the same chance to build their own legacies. School officials confirmed the family had quietly coordinated with the university ahead of time to pull off the surprise.

Almora continues to be my favorite escape for pure peace and 'analog' beauty. I just spent some incredible time exploring its quiet corners; the place is magical and the people I met were awesome.

Men's joy always simple

A man stuck on a bridge in a traffic jam on Interstate 70 near Glenwood Springs, Colorado, whiled away the time by getting out of his car and catching a fish in the Colorado River flowing under the roadway.

Dylan Hayes posted footage to his Instagram showing him holding a fishing rod at the side of the road and reeling in a fish. Hayes is accompanied by several other men, one of whom said the fish is a trout.
