The state-run tent camp at Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport in the Everglades opened in July 2025 and shut down in late June 2026. Officials promoted it as a rapid-response detention site; critics called the location and conditions punitive.

The cages OIG inspectors who made an unannounced visit in January 2026 documented indoor “metal housing enclosures” and at least two outdoor cage-like structures. Dimensions were roughly 4 feet 3 inches by 4 feet 3 inches with about 18 square feet of floor space and a height of about 7 feet 9 inches. Records showed 79 detainees were placed in them between July 17, 2025, and January 18, 2026, for periods ranging from a few minutes to nearly two hours (average just under an hour).

Staff labeled the spaces “calming areas” for de-escalation. Investigators found at least one case in which a detainee was put inside after failing to comply with a command—i.e., as discipline. The watchdog wrote that using such restrictive spaces “does not align with standards for humane treatment” and presented health and safety risks, including heat and insects in the Everglades setting.

I would never think of submitting info that would send them on wild goose chases.

I've done four events in Michigan this week. You know what didn't come up? Twitch streamers in California.

You know what did come up? Grocery prices, the fact that people can't see a doctor, the worry that they have about the quality of air and water.

I'm not interested in having a conversation about streamers in California because they are not raising the prices of gas and groceries.

I'm more interested in having conversation about tariff policies and trade wars we shouldn't be fighting, about hot wars with Iran, about AI, which I know we were supposed to talk about right now. So let's actually talk about the issues that are affecting people instead of getting distracted by whatever the president says we should be talking about.

Their whole game is to make us fight culture war so that we don't pay attention to the fact that the president has made $2.2 billion. His family has made even more. How about your family in Michigan? How about your ability to afford the basic things? How about the ability to believe that you could see a doctor without having to potentially fall into medical debt? Those are the conversations that people are having.

Those are the conversations I'm interested in having. So yeah, I'm not all that interested in having a conversation about a Twitch streamer. Forgive me when people can't afford their gas and their groceries.

Understood, doctor, but Republicans have made it a big attack on you. So I wanted to give you the chance to clarify, but we'll leave it there for now. You do talk a lot.

Los Angeles Metropolitan Detention Center: LABOR DAY

Our projectionist is a madman...

He was able to film federal agents leaving, and coming into the detention center and project them onto the facility in REAL TIME.

The building is high above a very crowded Los Angeles freeway that can see the projections as they sit in traffic...many people driving by pull over to watch and say "Thank You" for doing what you do.
