Imo he’s doing exactly what we’ve needed, could see a bit more goalscoring but can’t complain. Perfect premier league start and perfect UCL start so far as well.

Subs are great, has good tactics as well and most importantly has a stable ownership/team/fanbase united behind him as well!

Just a reminder… we lost 1-2 against Udinese second match last year and still went on to have our best year since 2010.

Obviously yes we barely won today, but I remember that there was immense criticism surrounding everybody after last year’s start to the Serie A season. Wasn’t just the Udinese game obviously, but this team definitely has some ways to go. Last year’s team had some struggles before absolutely dominating everyone down the stretch.

Yes, we should’ve won by a better margin today, yes the defense could’ve been better, but ultimately we picked up all 3 points in a difficult game/environment.

Mercato is still open for a few days, if we can make some last minute ingoings and outgoings (cough cough Luis Henrique) at some key areas I think we should be OK. I’m willing to see this game as more of a one off than an actual alarm, but the team has to wake up and play better.

Discussion/Opinion: We shouldn’t really be looking to buy Cody Gakpo. The fit is questionable, and the money (£85 million) is much better spent allocated elsewhere (like backup striker).

Discussion/Opinion: We shouldn’t really be looking to buy Cody Gakpo. The fit is questionable, and the money (£85 million) is much better spent allocated elsewhere (like backup striker).

We already have 2 fantastic left wingers in Doku and Semenyo, and Cherki and Haaland already make our attack lethal. We should really go for a backup striker instead, like Kroupi or Ndiaye (who I personally wouldn’t be mad at).

Add to this our pursuit of Enzo Fernande and I really struggle to see how Gakpo fits. He’s a fantastic player who, in my opinion, is fine where he’s at right now, and we shouldn’t be looking to sign him, especially at his current price tag.
