As a mechanic, how often do you come across customers that refuse proper preventative maintenance (replace one plug or coil instead of all)

For example, a customer comes in complaining his car doesn’t run right and he can smell unburnt petrol and you found out from your scan tool there is a misfire in cylinder 3. You find the problem which is a bad plug and advise the customer all spark plugs need replacement as they are past their use by date and maybe stressing the ignition coils but he is armament in just replacing that one plug.

I could only assume another plug would go bad and kill a coil which leads to more expensive repairs as unburnt fuel detonates inside the catalytic converter, leading to $1000+ in parts and labour.

Do parents have a legal right to sell my unregistered motorcycle?

I purchased a brand new motorcycle unregistered which has been sitting on the driveway for several months. Meanwhile, my dad who has borrowed thousands and thousands of dollars from me had sold it reason being he assumes he overpaid me when it came to paying the money back when in reality he borrowed more money the same day he paid in installments.

Is it more common for Victoria Police to arrest and charge a tresspasser or to have them sent to a Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team with a comunity treatment order?

I see too many incidents of tresspassing and was wondering if the police just arrest them on site or to have them collected by a mental health professional from their catchment? I've only been referred to the Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team for an alleged case of schizophrenia and persecutory paranoia which I beleive was a misdiagnosis.

Is there a possibility we could have the Laverton/Williamstown lines return back to the city loop while Werribee is to be linked with Sandringham permanently?

Sandringham alone is not cleared for XT1/XT2 revenue service so the Werribee/Sandringham line could remain Siemens only while Laverton and Williamstown lines could benefit from the XT1 fleet surplus and the city loop. It also seems like a great disadvantage to our RMIT people who would need to catch anoher train in order to access Melbourne Central Station/ State Library Station..

Is it okay to reuse the existing olive?

I just replaced my e-scooter's TurboBrake brake lever and had reused the existing brake line olive, but wasn't sure if I needed to cut off a bit of hose and add a new olive. I tigthend it and there's no leak.

How depressing would it be for a ghost to remain Earth-bound to never move on to the next realm?

Personally, I think being Earth-bound for eternity and watching those born after you leave Earth isn't too bad in my opinion. Yes, you will be socially isolated from the living and those who will move on but atleast you get to see how the planet changes geographically, economically and socioeconimcally.

As a patient or staff of a hospital, clinic, hospice or morgue, what paranormal things have you noticed?

When I was a patient of a hospital I felt a cold spot almost as if someone had come down to hug me and then later that night I saw what looked like a dark shadow peeking from above the privacy curtain. I also recall waking up with my heart beating very, very fast almost as if the spirit wanted me to become deceased and then assimilated into a spirit.

Is it common for spirits to want the living in places of death to end up dead and a spirit like them? I did say in my own mind that I gave consent to have me removed from my body earlier that day.

Update!

I forgot to mention I was also being treated for high blood pressure and high blood sugar which have been like this for several months so maybe the changing sugar levels may have caused some hallucinations and possibly that racing heart.

Is it common for people to judge another person’s character based on where they live? (I live in Laverton, slandered to make me look like the rest)

Hi folks,

Ever since I started a new job working in the city of Melbourne and committing from Laverton to the city nearly 5 years ago, I have been treated differently by other people especially when people on a train from Werribee had taken a photo of me and possibly tarnished my reputation. I have been assaulted, threatened with knife, had bottles thrown at me, been called a loser several times times over the past years, and I also have a tarnished professional reputation due to malicious complaints being made against me to my employer which lead to reduced shifts and taken off university sponsorship.

My assumption is that these people assume I am no different to anyone from Lavo so my reputation is tarnished and I made made to go unemployable like the rest.

Did we, as Werribee line commuters and residents of this side of Melbourne, do anything wrong to deserve how we are treated?

We’ve had intermittent rail disruptions from train testing, intermittent rail works, copper theft with rail works, to people who are clearly suffering from a debilitating mental illness. Rail replacement busses alone would not meet up with the trains they are replacing so now the passengers would have to wait for the next train load of people where everyone is crushloaded into a bus. Werribee line is also given hand me downs which I suspect will be the case for XT2s once they are old an a new train is given to another line.

I don’t mind the intermittent rail disruptions, but I’m genuinely concerned that the Government has put in less funding for mental health services for this part of Melbourne. Too many people are taking their own lives on this side of Melbourne and train drivers ad told me this is the reason why Werribee is the least preferred line they would work on,

Why should residents of this side of Melbourne be treated differently? We all pay our taxes to have the same level of service just like everyone else. I make just under $80,000 a year which a great portion goes to taxes.

Are these actions towards me common for people who are accused of having rumours spread about them not being allowed near a particular university?

I did a stupid thing in the past which was substantiate another person's rumours about me by saying out in public pretending to talk on the phone that I am not to be within 30 meters of RMIT University. I did this whenever someone else is trying to gaslight me based on rumours another person had been spreading.

Some things that had occured after I substantiated the other person's lies about me.

1 - Members of the public had been making malicious complaints against me towards my employer. I had reduced shifts for several months, am never offered a promotion and I not given university sponsorship, despite working there for 5 years.

2 - Members of the public had been calling me a loser from time-to-time and even had a few come say it right in my face. Property damage was also an issue where my e-sooter tyre was punctured by someone poking a hole into the wheel, someone adding sugar into the fuel tank of my motorbike, and someone pushing my motorbike on its side.

3 - Coworkers treating me differently from the rest where one likes to snitch on me and another one who nearly got me fired by framing me for something.

4 - Wrongful arrests because some idiot yelled out t a police officer that I had a bomb because I was going through my bag, causing me mental anguish as I was arrested on site and walked past hundreds of people staring at me.

Can the control board think a door is open because one of its door switch was wet? (Sharp sj-gc5584v)

Hi folks,

I just had an issue with the fridge beeping continously and the interior lights remaining on until I removed the refrigerator door switch and dried it with a mini turbo jet fan which solved the problem. I have come to the conclusion condensation had in fact reached areas it shouldn't get into given the overloaded freezer causing frosting issues for the last 5 days.

I am a computer nerd myself so I was competent in doing some repairs of my own such as fan replacment, control board replacement, switch replacement, except for plumbing and the sealed system.

EDIT: I am in no way saying SHARP is a terrible product! This fridge has provided solid performance for 7+ years before its freezer fan died and now the switch getting wet 2 years after the fan died.

Will a privacy bed tent (190.5L x 99.1W x 99.1H centimetres) work with my single bed frame ( L 90cm x D 189cm x H 45cm) and mattress which ius 34CM thick?

Hi folks, I seem to have an issue where one uses a different unit from the other and unsure if the bed tent will cover my bed frame. The mattress sits inside the privacy tent and the privacy tents sits on the bed frame.

Passengers from a train that left South Kensington from 12:10AM and 12:30AM passengers from a train that left South Kensington, catching the same bus at Newport, good or bad?

I don’t know if you’d consider it very sloppy service for people at Newport having to wait 20+ minutes for a bus at Newport where passengers from a later train are now joining, but I find it unacceptable.

Regardless if you took the 12:10AM train from South Kensington or the 12:30AM train, you’re going to end up taking the same bus as those who took the last train. This shows how careless these people are when it comes to planning.

How would an F-35 without BVR stack against a SU-35 in WVR/dogfight scenarios?

It seems the F-35 specialises in more of BVR-type attacks , rather than a dogfight with a supermaneuverable fighter jet such as SU-35/SU-57 fighter jets.

Are foldable e-scooters allowed in rail replacement busses?

Last time I checked with PTV website they are allowed onboard. I had a Dysons bus driver tell me e-scooters are not allowed, despite another Dysons bus driver allowing me on his bus.

Is an intelligent power board that switches off automatically worth it for electric scooters and electric bike chargers?

I’m not sure what they’re called but they’re like power boards that a charging adapter plugs into and automatically powers off when it detects the charger is trickle charging. The battery has its own BMS, the charger that works with the e-scooter comes with a BMS so I wasn’t sure if these are needed.

Any recommendations for a replacement charge port cover?

My electric scooter randomly dies and remains powered off whenever the charge port gets wet so I was wondering what would be the best one to be used as a charge port cover. I have tried a botle cap with rubber strap, sandwhich bag with zip ties and also a rubber strap wrapped around the deck covering the port.

My e-scooter works fine now and can charge but wasn't sure if 3 hours is enough for the charge port to dry before charging it. It has around 80 percent charge and can take it to work before charging it later tonight if that is recommended.
