Please help this emaciated senior ASAP!!! Located in Southern California - rescue, foster, or adopter needed. 💔💔💔

😭😭😭 I have a VERY urgent situation...

Grace was found as a stray, emaciated and neglected in Southern California. Beautiful citizens have taken her under their wing, spending their own money to rehabilitate her and nurse her back to health. Despite her scars, wounds, and obvious lack of food, she's the sweetest and most loving girl. She's currently fostered in Westchester (LA area), but can be transported.

Her current foster has paid for all of her vet bills, with no rescue backing. She's contacted several rescues and has one that *might* take her, if we can secure a foster. Unfortunately, the current foster has several dogs and will need to find her a new foster or adopter by Monday, May 25th. If no one steps up, she will have to be surrendered to a shelter - which means immediate death.

Info about her:
- Vet thinks she's about 7-10 years old
- Unsure about cat/dog friendliness, as she needs time to decompress and heal from her illnesses
- Spayed
- She was suffering from pyometra, severe anemia, emaciation, and eye infections when found. Since being rescued, she had pyometra surgery, a blood transfusion, bloodwork, and all medications and treatments for eye infections. This has all been paid out of pocket by her current foster.

I'm unable to foster for a few weeks, so I'm hoping someone will have it in their heart to foster her - or better yet, adopt her!! If you can help, please message me ASAP.

Are there ANY rescues ANYWHERE willing to take on large breed puppies?

I posted here a few days ago for advice about training 6 puppies from a stray litter all at once. Redditors have kindly advised me that it would make more sense to get them out of my house. The problem is that I’ve TRIED. I’m not stupid, just stuck. There are zero local (or even not-so-local) rescues with space. I live in the worst city in the worst county in the worst state for pet overpopulation.

So now I’m asking you, dog rescuers of Reddit, are there ANY rescues ANYWHERE who you know have vacancies and are willing to accept large puppies from out of state? I will personally drive them to any rescue that can be reached by car from where I am located (so, anywhere in North America). Please share your knowledge with me. My situation is truly pretty desperate and I and these pups really, really need some help.

Edit: we are in central California, but I really sincerely mean that I will take these pups ANYWHERE safe and loving homes await them.

Help Boss 🚨 ‼️

EXTENDED DEADLINE: Needs placement by
05/18 at 11:00am CST
Boss's Personality
Boss is an affectionate, people-loving senior who wants nothing more than to be close to his humans.
Once out of his kennel, he warms up quickly and becomes a total cuddle bug - leaning in for pets, belly rubs, and attention.
Volunteers consistently describe him as:
* Easygoing and calm
* Great on leash
* Knows "sit"
* Potties immediately outside
* Social and wiggly with people
* Well-mannered in public
* Gentle when taking treats
* Loves car rides, walks, and pup cups
On a recent Doggie Daycation, Boss relaxed at Starbucks with a pup cup, napped peacefully during a 30-minute car ride, strolled through a park ignoring kids, and politely enjoyed puppy patties at In-N-Out. He showed both playful curiosity (squirrels!) and the ability to settle and relax.
Meet Boss — Senior Love Bug in Need of a Calm
Home
Animal ID: Boss A1284792
Age: 11 years

Sex: Neutered Male
Weight: 54lbs
Heartworm Status: Negative
Intake Type: Keepsafe - Eviction
Adoption Link: https://adopt.adopets.com/pet/
839da024-44a9-4fd1-b55f-e138679c4383
• Important Behavior Notes (Easy to Manage with the Right Home)
Boss does not like being overwhelmed or having his face handled. During an event, someone bent down, squeezed his face, and kissed him — he reacted by nipping (Level 3 bite to the lip).
Volunteers strongly believe this was overstimulation and boundary violation, not unprovoked aggression.
He needs adopters who:
* Respect his space
* Avoid face handling/kissing
* Provide a calm, predictable environment
* Understand normal dog boundaries
When respected, Boss is described as a "perfect gentleman."
Va Medical
* Fully vaccinated (Rabies, DA2PP, Bordetella)
* Flea/heartworm prevention given

Flea/heartworm prevention given
* Heartworm negative
* Microchipped
* Neutered
* Adoption exam completed
Shelter & Playgroup Notes
* Social, people-oriented, allows greetings
* Calm around kids in public
* Nonreactive to dogs during outings
* Cohoused previously
* Playgroup: "Dainty & Gentle"
* One noted incident of pinning a kennel mate (cause unknown)
The Home Boss Needs
A calm home where he can:
* Relax
* Be loved and spoiled
* Spend time close to his people
* Have his boundaries respected
This sweet senior boy has so much love left to give and deserves to spend his golden years in comfort
— not in a shelter.

Due to shelter capacity, Boss is at risk.
If you can help:
€ Adopt: dasadopt@dallas.gov include your phone number)
Foster: dasfoster@dallas.gov
Rescue Tag: dasrescue@dallas.gov
Please share Boss. Seniors like him are the first overlooked and the last who deserve it.

Hope from Terrell, Tx animal shelter (near dfw area) needs a hero to come save her!! She’s terrified in the full shelter!!

💔No one knows everything Hope has been through.

Hope was confiscated with a bunch of other little dogs.

Hope is a timid, undersocialized Schnauzer mix around 3–5 years old who is still decompressing in the shelter. The world clearly hasn’t always been kind to her, and she needs patient people willing to give her time to feel safe before expecting much from her.

But beneath the fear is the sweetest, calmest soul once she feels comfortable with you.

Hope is the definition of low-maintenance and high-affection. While the shelter feels loud and overwhelming around her, she just wants a soft place to nap, a quiet home, and someone to love her gently. Her perfect day is curling up beside her person during a rainy afternoon and finally being able to rest.

Dogs like Hope don’t show their true personalities overnight, especially after experiencing cruelty and neglect. She will need time to decompress and slow introductions to other animals while she adjusts.

A full shelter is a heartbreaking place for a dog this sensitive. Every day she waits quietly in her kennel, hoping someone sees past the fear in her eyes.

Please don’t let her spend the rest of her life recovering from what humans did to her until she runs out of time.

“Hope”

• ~3-5 years old, intact female, Schnauzer mix, HW status unknown
