Whether for data transfer or for power delivery.

Questions Regarding the PD

  1. How much of a difference does it make if there's a slight variation, one way or the other, in the PD used to create the eyeglasses?

  2. What is the best/most accurate way to measure your PD?

How accurately can you measure your own PD, yourself? What is the best way to do so?

Does it matter if you get a single figure for your PD or if you get a separate figure for each eye?

Does your PD change with age?

Rides With Stops - How To Handle

Do you reject any ride offers that already have a stop on it when the offer first comes in? Or do you make a decision selectively?

How do you handle the following scenarios?:

  1. Initial ride offer already has one (or more) stops.

  2. A stop is added after you accept the ride but before you pickup the passenger.

  3. A stop is added after the passenger is in your car.

a. Kick them out on the spot?

b. Cancel as soon as they get out at their first stop.

c. Let them do their stop and continue.

How does the system change the price you will be paid, if you cancel the ride before it ends?

How much time do you wait at the stop before cancelling, if the passenger is taking too long?

If you want to cancel a ride because the passenger is taking too long at the stop, but you notice he left something in your car (a. a stack of documents, b. a suitcase or c. a child [which you didn't notice until he left]), how do you deal with that situation?

Lowest Cost Used Laptop for Linux Mint

What would be the lowest cost to purchase a used laptop in the US, for the purpose of using it with Linux Mint?

And where would be the best places to source purchasing such a used laptop, at the best available cost?

And what specs would be the minimum needed for it to run decently for, mainly, web browsing and occasionally reading/signing PDFs and Word documents (and infrequently viewing a YouTube)?

Background Checks on Potential Tenants [NY]

For New York City.

For an owner of only a couple of rental apartments, what are the best options to conduct a background check on potential tenants who apply to rent the apartment? Who are the providers?

How does a background check work on applicants with a very common first and last name? Will it potentially pickup results of other people with the same name?

What information will, or should, be included in the background check?

When asking the applicant for referrals from previous landlords (or from others) how can you be sure they didn't ask a friend to pose as a reference for them (pretending to be their former landlord)?

Will it check court records in all 50 states or must you specify which states it should check?

What should the landlord expect such a background check to cost? Is it expected the applicants should pay for the background check (even if they ultimately are denied or decide not to rent)?

What else is important (or good) to know?
