Casio CDP-S100 Dead key
Piano was never damaged, moved, flooded, dirty. It was covered for 2 weeks, today I sat to play some scales and D4 is dead. It was fine when I turned it off last time.
First I dusted and blew some air. No change.
Then I disassembled the upper case, dusted & blew again - still nothing.
Then I removed the faulty key and its surrounding keys, turned off touch response, tested if I can get sound by pressing rubber buttons directly - dead key is still dead, other keys sound fine.
Now I'm removing strip with rubber buttons and cleaning below. My hopes are low at this point, will report if it helps.
Cleaning contacts under rubber buttons didn't help, key is still dead.
Is the meanwhile, while I'm disassembling and cleaning, is there anything else I can do/check myself? I have a digital multimeter and not much else as far as electronic diagnostics go.
UPDATE:I disassembled keys and cleaned contacts couple of times, waited a little for alcohol to dry off and all of the sudden I press the rubber and get the sound! Great. Then I assemble keys, test again - dead again. So I remove the offending key again, press the button, zero reaction. I wiggled it around a little - goes back to working perfectly, even with touch response, minute later - dead again. Need help before I go crazy, how to fix that permanently? Nothing down there looks tired, damaged, dirty or worn...
