Why are prescriptions costing $2 and change now instead of being free like they were?

My pops just had a couple of prescriptions filled and it cost him $2.40 for one and $2.44 for the other. He said they didn't charge him anything in the past so wondering why this small amount now? Both are 3 month supply.

Avoidant and doing food delivery work is hard!

I do food delivery work on apps and it is quite difficult for me. I struggle to do it even 2 nights a week. It's the rude fast food workers that really gets on my nerves. Of course I'm looking for any signs of disapproval or disrespect and I find plenty. From them not saying thank you or acknowledging my existence to some of them seemingly ridiculing me to one another when I'm the only guy there that's of a different race. It hurts my self esteem and gets me down so much I want to quit but I can't do anything else because I need the flexibility of this job. Normally I would never go into any of these stores or restaurants but since I have to I suppose it helps for exposure. And when I go to drop off the food I'm in places I would never drive to because certain areas would make me feel like I don't belong there for one reason or another.

I do feel good at the end of the night if the money is good and it feels like an accomplishment. After 8,000 deliveries in 6 yrs I'm still trying to figure how not to let stranger's nasty attitudes or outright ridicule bother me.

Wireless phone charger too slow in both cars but same charger plugged inside house works fine?

I know output is naturally higher in the house but enough difference to work great but much too slow in the car? And it had been working consistently good in the car? I changed the power cord , usb charging socket, and tried in 2 cars. The setup is my phone has a wireless adapter because it didn't come with wireless charging. But I've been using this for years in car with good results until lately but same charger in house works fine. All i can think of now is maybe the wireless adapter is on its way out and slightly lower current in car compared to house makes the difference between working good and barely working at all?

Home for sale but we have cat pee in carpet need help!

Selling my mom's house that's unoccupied now but cat pee in carpet is a problem for potential buyers. So I'm having a flooring guy remove carpet soon.

The questions are what subfloor treatment should be used and should it be on whole living room floor area or just where he sees obvious problems if any? He mentioned a spray he uses but I read a shellac of some sort is recommended idk. They do all the work in 1 day of carpet removal and install either vinyl flooring or new carpet for same price. But I've read that shellac on subfloor should be allowed to dry for several days or longer although like mentioned he said they use a spray for cat pee on subfloor. I also don't know whether to get vinyl flooring or another carpet. It's a very modest duplex home in a retirement community and the adjoining kitchen has linoleum or vinyl floor while living room with small hallway is carpeted and 2 bedrooms are carpeted too and not being changed since we don't smell a problem in there.

In this case would it be best to get another carpet or use vinyl flooring? Should we insist on a certain subfloor treatment? We can't be doing this job more than once. Thanks for helping!

Navigation in app is bad this weekend for me, has anyone else been experiencing it too?

I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it still no good. I am using an old phone 2019 I'm on Android 10 if that means anything at all. But there's only one appf that will not work at all on my phone and Uber eats driver app has been perfectly fine all this year. Navigation shows the directions but it's not keeping pace at all of where I'm driving it's real glitchy anyone else having problems this weekend?

Any S23 similar size phones without PWM problems?

Anything from 2023 to present for under $350? I like the size of S23 and want to get one but worried about PWM issues. Do some people just not have problems with PWM issues? I've only ever used lcd screens so idk if I should even bother getting OLED.

What do when you live in a small car and it's only good for lying down but not much else?

Where do spend you time? It can't be too comfortable staying inside a small car like mine so where would i think about going to hang out during the days and early evening?

DVD-R's for longterm YouTube video storage?

I'm thinking about downloading collections of videos from YouTube mostly 1 or 2 hour long each and wondering if Dvd-r's make sense? I see cost is only 22 cents per disc when buying 50 or 100 at a time. Does this make sense for a casual collection compared to external HDD or SSD? How about putting bunch of short 1-2 min YouTube vids on these discs? Is it easy to add one at a time and keep adding whenever you want? Will playback on disc of shorty vids allow for continuous play through them all or would it play one only and stop?

Buyer has 2 days to return item but might not make it in time

So what happens if the item doesn't get delivered to me in time? Tracking shows it's going to be 3 or 4 days until i get it. Do i tell the buyer they're out of luck on refund, if i wanted to once the 'return by date' passes? I'm not saying i would do that but would like to know how eBay feels about a situation like this.

Someone attempted to charge $400 at local Lowe's on my credit card ..

The bank notified me by text + email someone tried charging $400 at a Lowe's store and it was declined. So I called the bank and they cancelled the card now they are sending a new one. Should I contact the local police department and have them check the cameras at Lowe's for the person who attempted to use my credit card number? If I still have my card how would they be able to make a charge? Did my CC number get hacked and someone made a counterfeit card?

Could've everyday Xanax use led to my mom's Vascular dementia or made it worse?

My mom who's 86 now starting using Xanax everyday about 3 yrs before going into a nursing home with vascular dementia. What i noticed after 6 mths to a year or so of taking it is her memory had declined when it hadn't been much of an issue if any prior to going on it. I tried to get her to switch to an antidepressant for her general anxiety but she really liked the xanax. Her GP prescribed it. Once in the nursing home i told them my concerns about the xanax and her memory. But they all insisted it's ok for her to be on it and so she has been past 2 years since getting there. Now she's also on Seroquel and zoloft. A brain scan showed 2 yrs ago she doesn't have Alzheimer's and they're calling it vascular dementia from mini-strokes or TIA 's she's had over the years. Her memory now is not good and she thinks she's been getting visits from relatives who've died a long time ago. Her mood is more up + down lately since increasing seroquel from 25 mg to 50 mg. Although the agitation is better. She has no history of being bipolar and i wouldn't describe the up + down mood now as bipolar but there is a fluctuation during any given day where she is mad at the nurses and then ok with them. She is bringing up old issues she had with her sister who died almost 35 yrs ago and the fights they used to have back in the 1970s + 80's.

Any thoughts on Xanax or these other meds? Oh yeah, she gets melatonin at night too usually not long after getting xanax + seroquel. This seems to me quite a bit of sedation. Btw we did try her on klonopin thinking its has a longer half life but she responded poorly to the switch so we went back to xanax.

Blend door actuator makes constant gear spinning noise when set to cold

It changes from hot to cold properly when I turn the dial but when set all the way cold the gears keep turning non-stop. I hear them spinning/grinding. If I pull the actuator out is there an easy fix for this? Or should I just buy another actuator i see A/M ones on Amazon for less than 30 bux.

Living in fear in impovrished neighborhoods?

When i lived in a city near Newark, nj we were in a rough area. We would hear gunshots at night, cars got broken into all the time, houses robbed, people got mugged, etc. So i lived in fear all the time not just for myself but my family. Fear of crime was a constant and i especially feared someone coming into our apartment at night which was a single unit attached to an old social club which people would break into occasionally while we were upstairs sleeping behind weak doors. We didn't own guns and we were not physically formidable people either so i feared for our safety. Anyhow i remember also being very depressed while living there in constant fear and it felt ike a black cloud just hung over the whole area. Now, i cant be sure if it felt that way because I was fearful + depressed or if that whole area exasperated things to such a degree.

How do you feel if living in a desperate area now? How do you deal with the fear and despair around you? Because it certainly stressed me out to an unhealthy degree impacting my mental health severely. I still like driving thru the old gritty areas i have some good memories too but wouldn't want to be living back there again.

How hard to pull engine out for guy like me?

I've done a head gasket job myself and haven't been to a mechanic in almost 19 yrs for any mechanical work (since i do it myself) but how difficult to get the whole motor out if bottom end ever needed work? I would be apprehensive that's for sure and would have to get an engine hoist. But maybe crankshaft bearings, rings, new pistons can all be done easily enough without removing motor? Just curious since i don't need to do anything now and it is my work car DX model.

2005 Civic - what is likely to go bad on engine's bottom end (if anything at all) when maintaining + driving reasonably?

Just curious but I have an old civic with 265k mi and use full synthetic oil and drive reasonably. What is likely to go bad on bottom end of motor with age if anything at all?

Reason I ask is i can fix anything on the car myself but never pulled an engine. So if the rings or crankshaft bearings went idk if i would pull the motor myself to deal with it. Unless it's possible to change those from underneath without engine removal?

Do these bottom end parts tend to fail gradually and generally don't have to worry if on a long trip of sudden failure? Like if you left your house on long trip and there was no signs of problems with rings or berings they probably wouldn't suddenly appear in a catastrophic way?
