Tales of Arcadia deserved better
I've been re-watching the tales of Arcadia Trollhunters, 3Below, and Wizards built such a rich animated universe with great characters, gorgeous worldbuilding, humor, emotion, and genuinely strong storytelling. It felt like one of those rare animated franchises that could balance fun adventure with real stakes and heartfelt character arcs.
And then the movie came out... and, well, we don't talk about the movie.
I just think the franchise as a whole deserves better And not because the franchise was bad, but because it was so good. It had so much potential for more stories, more fallout, more character development, and more exploration of its world.
Even if the ending left a lot of fans frustrated, it doesn't take away from the heart, creativity, and ambition of the shows themselves. Trollhunters, 3Below, and Wizards gave us a world worth remembering and one that still deserves way more love.

Cartoons/anime where a character is literally split into different versions of themselves
Jade/Lan Jun (Jade Armor): In “My Own Worst Enemy,” Jade is split into three versions of herself: her normal self, a logical Green Jade, and a fiery Red Jade. It turns her inner conflict into actual separate people.
Nana Suzuki (Seven of Seven): Nana is split into seven different versions of herself after a lab accident involving her grandfather’s experiment. Each Nana represents a different side of her personality.
Jackie Chan (Jackie Chan Adventures): The Tiger Talisman splits Jackie into his yin and yang selves, literally dividing his balanced personality into separate bodies.
Omi (Xiaolin Showdown): The Ring of the Nine Dragons splits Omi into multiple versions of himself, with each one reflecting a different side of his personality.
Jim Lake Jr. (Trollhunters): In “Hero with a Thousand Faces,” Jim is split into multiple clone aspects of himself through the Aspectus Stone, with versions like Hunter Jim representing different sides of his personality and responsibilities.
Starscream (Transformers: Animated): Starscream’s clones each represent one of his personality traits, including cowardice, ego, lying, and sucking up. Basically, his worst qualities get their own bodies.
Raven (Teen Titans): Raven’s emotions are shown as separate versions of herself, making her inner conflict literal instead of just internal.
DC Animation is bringing Mister Miracle, Green Lantern, Starfire, Creature Commandos S2, and Batman: Caped Crusader S2 to Annecy
If you miss shows like Static Shock, try Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur
Both shows have that fun teen-with-powers setup: superhero action, school stress, comedy, emotional moments, colorful villains, and stories that aren’t afraid to touch on more serious topics too
Western Animation Magical Girls
Jentry Chau (Jentry Chau vs. The Underworld) — A teen girl with suppressed fiery powers who has to face demons literally, which gives her major western magical girl energy with a supernatural horror-action twist.
Luz Noceda (The Owl House) — Luz is not a traditional transformation magical girl, but she still fits the spirit of the trope through glyph magic, spell circles, fantasy-world heroism, and emotional growth.
Anne Boonchuy (Amphibia) — Anne’s Calamity form feels like western animation’s version of a magical girl power-up: glowing blue hair, cosmic energy, destiny, friendship, and way too much emotional damage for a middle schooler.
Aika (Pretty Pretty Please I Don’t Want to Be a Magical Girl) — The most direct magical girl here, except her whole deal is that she does not want the job anymore.
