A major BBC investigation has just exposed a deeply alarming reality: Instagram has been running paid advertisements promoting child sexual abuse material right here in India. The system breakdown is horrifying.

Predators paid for ads using explicit keywords, which bypassed Instagram's filters and targeted everyday users—redirecting them to external networks selling this material. Worse yet, when reported, automated systems initially claimed the content "did not violate standards."

The Indian government has officially summoned Meta executives to demand accountability. We cannot stay silent while the platforms we trust fail to protect the most vulnerable.
