After local police spent four months refusing to file a missing child report, Corristan secured a judge's order granting him sole custody. When he brought the court order to the station on March 15, 2026, Sgt. Eddie Price refused to enforce it, pepper-sprayed, and arrested Corristan instead. Sgt. Price claimed his body camera was off, but the grandparents filmed the assault. Following recent public outrage over the footage, the incident was referred to the Arkansas State Police for investigation, while Sgt. Price remains on active duty.
