What are some common “uncommon” cars in your area?

I know a lot of people with older Isuzu Troopers, most of the time it’s ones people bought new and have continued to drive since.

Suzuki Samurai’s are also decently common, I know 4 people who bought their son or daughter one as their first car.

I know of at least 5 defenders that get daily driven in my immediate area.

As for most common overall, GMT400/Ford Aeronose anything. 2nd gen ram, GMT800, and Jellybeans/first gen superduties. Chevy impala of the last 3 generations, honda civics (a surprising amount of 2 doors), and toyota avalons for cars. Not too many panther bodies anymore, there are three of them I still see hanging around town

What are some of the best sounding engines ever made?

The 3V 5.4 V8 , as awful an engine as it was, sounded really good with the right exhaust system. It had a deep roar to it.

Why did the dairy industry here go through such a collapse?

When I was a kid, dairy farms were absolutely everywhere around Jacksonville. I think there are fewer than 5 left now

What was the last major use of short log pulp wood trains in the U.S.?

They were absolutely everywhere when I was a kid, seems like they have completely disappeared. Why did they fall out of use? I still see log trains, but they seem to be full trees now.

Why would you use a dryshield?

Usually my dentist just uses a HVE tube and some cotton to keep the area dry when doing fillings. It works just fine for me according to her. She said there is no reason to use these now that they are no longer legally mandated. She said they don’t do anything but make people gag and get in her way.

I had to go get some work done by a different dentist than usual, and they used one. It felt like a medieval torture device. Seemed like my whole mouth was on fire with pain. It was terrible.

Recommendation for a carry pistol?

I currently use a FN M1922, my papa took it off a German Sailor during WW2 is what I have always been told.

Don’t want to carry it, for various reasons. Are there any new ones yall would recommend that are of similar weight and dimensions.

Why does southeast Georgia/northeast Florida have such a historically high LDS population?

Stretching from lumber city Georgia to around LaCrosse Florida, that area has had a high percentage of the population be Mormon as far back as the 1880’s, especially in comparison to the surrounding areas. The corridor between US 41, and Ga/Fl highway 121 is where it seems to be most concentrated.

Was it lack of persecution because of sparse population? Cheap land?

What vehicles had the worst excuse for a back seat?

  1. Any mini truck, but imo Nissans are the worst

  2. 2 door extended cabs, with the old fords being the worst of them, the new dodges being the best.

2009 Silverado A/C intermittently blasts hot humid air

Even when I have it on max ac, every 10-15 minutes the air conditioner starts blasting 90+ degrees humid air into the cab, right after that the air coming out of the vent drops into the 30’s. Been doing it for about a week. It doesn’t matter whether I am sitting and idling, driving down the highway, or accelerating.

Who were some of the worst generals (from both sides) in the war?

Truman Seymour has to be one of them, disobeyed orders and as a result he lost 2/5’s of his own men, and a decent amount of territory. Olustee was a disaster.

He was trying to become another Sherman, and failed miserably.

Last picture of my grandparents house prior to demolition (southeast Georgia, built in the mid 20’s). What style would it be considered?

Termites had gotten to the floor joists. Nobody wanted to live in it. It was burned for a fire drill.
