Curious what trucks are most similar to the original Royal lineup. I was considering the new royal ultra lights but then was recommended Slappy ST1 from a shop saying they are more similar to original Royals than modern Royals even are

Can anyone confirm their experiences on what current trucks on the market have a similar ride and feel to the original Royal trucks?

Their IG is all about transition and vert, and I'm wondering if they are tailored for it vs street and stuff. I'm a sucker for their artwork and they have 8.75" & 9" decks for days, but curious if it's because they are built for vert and not ideal for street or something 🤷

I want to build a 9" board but only finding 8.75" trucks for Royal and Thunder. If I have that .125" variance between truck axle and deck, will it cause too lopsided of a primo or make it harder to stick the primo when kick flipping into it?

I can't remember the spec I had back in the day, but it was a miracle match. My freestyle skating with primos leveled up significantly back then, and I just got lucky having walked into a skate shop, picked a deck and asked for Royal trucks. Now it's all particular sizes and I'm overwhelmed lol. Anyone have tips/insight on width specs for good primo performance? Should I just run 8.75" trucks with 8.75" deck?

I want to go 9" but royal ultra lights and thunder hollow lights aren't made in a 9". The thunder does 8.75, or 9.125", and Royal only goes up to 8.75". If I run 8.75" and have that .125" variance on the side of the deck, will it be significant enough to make the board lopsided when in primo position or make it harder to stick the primo from kickflip?

I know BBS and PS are the ones to get, but seeing some deals on boards coming out of this factory and wondering if they are decent, old stock etc. For example, seeing some boards in my size from the brand Madness. Never skated one, but slated Almost exclusively back then. Are these current Madness boards old stock and similar to Almost since they came out of the same factory, or a newer stock and not worth it? When Dwindle went out, did the factory and boards change?

They are all basically the same post just slightly worded differently, seems like there is some money and strategy behind the push. Feels like they are coming down harder on mitra 🤷. Anyone else getting bombarded with these posts on social media?

I had always been street but can't really send myself down stairs anymore and don't have many spots to skate at. I also feel weird if I were to try and hit up a high school afternoon on weekdays haha. Kinda just doing flip tricks outside on the sidewalk or going to a certain parking lot. Never went to skate parks much unless it was with friends and I would just skate able ledge/manual pad basically

I think I dropped in once or twice like 20 years ago but that was it, and found it intimidating but lately been seeing videos of people out there killing it and it does look fun.

Anyways, anyone here learning it later in life? Do I need bigger/softer wheels than my 52mm 99a? Any tips that might help an older stiffer dog not die? 🥴

I was curious when building my new complete and decided to choose the Thunder Night Hollow Light II. I had always skated Royal back in the day but they don't seem to be talked about much, not sure if they had changes in the company like Tensor for example, plus just wondering what else is out there and what the hype is about.

Afraid to feel like I'm stepping on a way different board though, like independent trucks for example always fill super foreign and weird to me. Will Thunder be less like Independent and more like Royal?

I mainly skate in parking lots, behind stores, flip tricks, manual pads, primo tricks etc. Street only.

Getting back into skating, Almost (and sometimes Enjoi) was always my go-to, then Baker before my last board got jacked and work/life got between me and skating

Anyways, is Rassvet good? I was considering Baker, Enjoi or Zero, but noticed some nice artwork on a Rassvet deck and started reading about how most decks are similar because they come out of the same few factories. I think Rassvet might be PS Sticks?

Will the concave, shape and feel be drastically different than the others? These days I'd mainly be doing flip tricks, small ledges, street stuff. Primo/flip tricks likely until I lose some dad weight. Anyone skate Rassvet decks?

Hadn't been able to get an effect until last night I think I finally felt the dose.

Took some sublingually last night and the first 10-15 felt a little excited, almost like the shivery feeling you get when you're cold lol. Felt good for a bit and just laid in bed (a bit tired from the day) having a series of short vivid dreams, and time was passing by fast each time I would wake up lol. Morning after feels a bit groggier, like I did a light dr*g the night before vs something like kratom. Is this a first timer type thing? I really only get Friday and Saturday nights to "let my hair down" and I want to take something like Kanna and record music. Is it likely I'll feel shit*y the next day?

Also have a persistently twitching upper eyelid under my eyebrow, the morning after, random lol

I received a refund from Amazon and Zip confirmed Monday morning that they issued back to card. I have a credit union and refunds hit my card same day/next day. Does Zip release refunds in batches like Sezzle (Thursdays I believe)? Zip chat support doesn't connect so I'm just trying to be patient 🤷

Theoretically, at least for me, the thought of hardware with additional benefits like DACs, filters etc sounds appealing but I'm worried about wasting the money and creating friction when trying to create.

Drums are something that I've been kinda fixated on lately, like painting blocks in FL eventually gets the job done when I find a beat but I wonder if my drums would flow from me better with an actual machine, pads, etc. And having access to lower bit depth/sample rate, filters and stuff from something affordable like Behringer BMX or LM would be a plus.

I don't really need a machine for hardware sequencing, dawless stuff or anything. I just want to dial in the ideal workflow and maximize flow state basically.

Anyways. Anyone here find that having an actual drum machine compliments their DAW workflow well?

Lost the ability to get that grind/content mentality from mitra over the years. Cut my dose down from 70gpd to 10-15gpd but stilo got that weight of laziness and stuff, even with caffeine. Stopped smoking a while back but wondering if introducing nicotine via Zyn or something might help with that "something to reach for" pick me up lol. Do the two mix well?
