the reason the two styles work so well is that you can still shoot as grace.

you can still get ammo, maybe not 100+ rounds, but you can still get quite a bit. the zombies grace fights are the same ones leon fights. their scalps still peel off, their jaw's still get detached and flop around on their face, their eyeballs still pop out from the gunshot they took and their heads still explode all over the walls with big meaty chunks flying everywhere.

i wish grace had more defensive options like a block button or an offensive option like a shotgun for the blisterheads, maybe they'll add something like this as a coin box item in the future (it's very unlikely but i can dream).

the alligator snapper is based on the P320, but joe kendo fixed the problem with it.

that's the head canon i choose to follow. joe said "it's a good gun if this one flaw can be fixed" and then he fixed it and handed it to leon. simple when you think about it.

love the alligator snapper, but this is the one lads.

the feeling of blowing up heads with this thing never really gets old. landing a roundhouse kick then quickly aiming down the sight to pop someones head off goes great with a kebab, chips and gravy, fish cocktails, soda and doritos.

anyone else think aim assist SUUUCKKKS in RE4R?

you'll go for a headshot on a dude and end up shooting him in the cock. that's about the extent of it. it snaps on and tracks just fine but it's innacurate as all fuck. RE9's aim assist is WWAAAAYYY more accurate. even though i'm on console i turn it off, for RE2 remake too, it just doesn't feel right.

they literally had to invent a mod called "let me sleep" (a crimson desert rant)

in skyrim, fallout new vegas, witcher 3, RDR2, elden ring, all these great games, i can play through the WHOLE experience start to finish with little to no time wasting interruptions in what i want to do. THAT'S freedom.

the ability to sleep/pass time whenever and wherever you want IS freedom. for the game to say "no you HAVE to let this timer slowly tick by" or "you HAVE to wait until the NPC decides to turn up" IS a bad, unengaging design flaw that leaves the player stranded with no power to progress for several minutes and in the worse cases, HOURS.

so, the PC players said fuck that and made a mod that 100,000's of people downloaded. console players are still stuck washing their fucking dishes while the timer on the bustling hill quest STILL isn't finished slowly ticking down to zero.

but yeah, "GOTY GUYS"🤓

another little addition. the content online about this game is so fucking repetitive and clickbaity. every post is "the dev's finally did it!" to suggest that they've "solved gaming" by adding a fucking dog collar or some shit. they always point out how "no one's devving harder than the CD devs" like they're putting everyone to shame and their crummy fucking MMO is the shepard that'll lead us to the promised land.

how it feels to know that gaming is gonna be good this year.

i suppose it's no secret i disliked crimson desert, but i think my medieval fantasy craving will be more than pleasantly satiated with not just blood of the dawnwalker, but fable too. that on top of the other big titles. 007, GTA 6, WOLVERINE, PHANTOM BLADE 0. it's a good year.

haaaaaannnggg on a minute....

this guy CREATED the zombies we fight. he's the guy who victor and wesker and probably a bunch of others worked to replicate, he made a cure for all the virus's he made, picked up an orphan (grace) off the street and changed his mind about wanting to be god.

so now he's just... all good? no need to keep him around as the big bad? well who's the big bad now? the connections? most of them are dead. this game's story is kinda, like... wah?

just beat RE9 a second time, it's peak.

now that i actually kinda know the puzzles and route (which will get better in time) it's a much better experience. now that i can actually gather my thoughts in a tighter knit basket here's what i think.

the grace sections were fucking terrifying, the first bits of rhodes hill are everything i liked about 2 and 7, getting chased by jack and MR X. hiding around corners watching them slowly walk past you is freaky shit. the girl is possibly the scariest shit i've seen in a game and >!hearing her TALK? was terrifying.!<

the "signposting" or yellow paint is just right in this game i feel. i never really felt so lost that i was smashing my head up against every surface to find the way forward.

also the little guitar pluck thing that happens when you encounter zombies in rhodes hill is so simple yet so effective at freaking me out. i think i said it before but this game balances the naturalism and horror fantasy really well. having these tacticool looking dudes running around fighting zombies and having these regular civilians getting their faces bitten off is a great visual contrast.

peak game, hands down. i have a back catalogue but i'm just gonna play LMDF until 007 first light comes out.

i'm just gonna PLAY crimson desert.

i probably wont beat the main story, i'll probably just stay in hernand forever. the main quest objectives, story and game design surrounding those things is just fucking terrible, it's some of the worst i've ever seen. but running around in the open world, fighting bleed bandits and selling loot is fun. so i'll just do that until a time that they fix the time gating, they make the bosses more fun and make the parry more responsive.

how to skip bustling hill.

just want to skip the long wait and get to the next chapter. there's nothing else to see, don't want to have to wait. super unecessary wait time for just a simple pop up message.

def excited for GTA 6, but who else really wants to see BOTD and witcher 4?

i need something to replace the dissapointment i had with crimson desert from a medieval fantasy RPG standpoint. something new and relevant. but apart from that i just want to see what happened to the baron and his family. i want to see geralt and all these characters as they're all old now.

i also want to see blood of the dawnwalker (BOTD)'s combat. i can get behind a vampire game.

who's buying forza horizon 6?

i get that you get a bunch of cars, but it's still L2 to break, R2 to accelerate. you just do that in a big world. do you buy it so you can have it on the TV at a party? do you buy it so you have something to do while you watch a show or listen to a podcast? what's the end goal here?

i played through doom the dark ages a second time

(really it's the third time considering i did a cheat run in between)...

this game is actually pretty darn good. the flying sections are meh and the mech sections are just kinda bad but when you're on the ground, with your super shotgun and your plasma rifle and you're slaying demons and blowing their brains and guts and limbs all over the place, it's a good time.

i recently bought RE9 and loved it for the most part but it made me ponder this game that at one stage i thought was pretty bad, not even just comparitively to eternal, but a bad game in general. now that i've come at it with no frills and no pre concieved ideas, it's actually pretty good. looking forward to the DLC.

one other small complaint is the inconsistent parry. sometimes it's timed right and other times it's timed right but it just doesn't register.

can we all just sit back and listen to my idea for a moment?

classic call of duty campaign structure. mission to mission, simple objectives like killing all the enemies, following the guy and clearing out the bunkers, that sort of thing. maybe some QTE's. press V to stop the banzai charge, etc.

do all that same stuff, but in a medieval fairytale fantasy land. wizards, goblins, knights, dragons. all fighting over the kingdom and brutally slaughtering eachother in their 100,000's. knights have their rapid burst crossbows, swords and shields. goblins have their speed, daggers and fire bottles. wizards have their pointy hat's, spell books and staff's. dragons are nukes. they fly over the battlefield like blitzkriegs breathing fire and raining down chaos from above.

the campaign will be dark and visceral like WAW, focusing on in game moments between characters. like cod you switch between the factions in their quest to seize or maintain power. there are no ally's to call for aid.

the trailer would be similar to the HALO 3 trailer with the action figures in a diorama battle scene.

what i'd hope for with a "directors cut"

add the missing street sections

add the OG "wiggle free" option for leon and claire when a zombie grabs them

bring back some of the OG setpieces and enemies (e.g. the crows in the police station)

add a light switch to all the rooms or a "turn on the lights" option in the settings (or maybe add a puzzle in the library where you collect fuses to turn the lights on idk)

all DLC included with purchase

the option to take marvin, ada and the half eaten cop's gun

the option to kill MR X and the G monster before the end of the game (have it be a challenge or a trophy or something)

give the truck driver a bonus segment. he survives his crash and is dying but he makes it through the streets to the steps of the hospital and get's smushed by nemesis in a cameo. or killed by hunk thinking he's a zombie

in leon B, put the shotgun in kendo's gun store like in the OG game

well... that was fucking awesome...

just beat RE9 and i've got some typing to do.

the grace sections, they went on a liiiittttllleee toooooo looonnnggg. especially the care centre and the underground of the care centre. having 1 big puzzle that goes on for a long time isn't as good as having multiple small puzzles IMO.

the best bits of graces gameplay were encountering the pant shittingly terrifying monsters and shooting zombies for me. her story was also pretty good.>!oswell is still evil but at least he kinda put in a little bit of effort at the end.!<

leon is the star of the show, again, but this time his gameplay was buttery smooth. smoother than RE2R IMO. his sections gave off just the right amount of "john wick-tacticool-semper fi" grunge aura i like. i was half expecting him to have a sex minigame like kratos or call in a fucking airstrike like it's modern warfare 2019.

i got the good ending too btw. also the guy playing victor absolutely killed it. he's got that rykard "famileeee, togethaaa, aiiiieee serpunt, never dooiiiissss" voice thing where he extentuates his words and does weird inflections. it's awesome.

i'd say that if they made an RE 10. i'd want to see jill and chris again. walking around fancy buildings and hospitals shooting zombies and painting the walls with their gore like this game had us doing. the real highlights were those moments in buildings like the care centre, all done up and cleanly, just for grace and leon to massacre 100's of zombies. it's a good time.
