Capcom Q1 sales jump 54% as old games keep selling like new releases

Capcom just posted another huge quarter, but the most interesting part is not only the new releases.

The company sold 23.81 million game units during the quarter, and 21.26 million of those came from catalog titles.

Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Monster Hunter, and Street Fighter continue generating sales years after release, while new games add another layer on top.

Capcom seems to have built a model where a successful game does not disappear after launch. It keeps becoming more valuable over time through discounts, new platforms, expansions, esports, and other media.

Is Capcom currently better than any other major publisher at turning great games into long-term franchises?

If a game gives you motion sickness, increase the FOV before changing anything else.

Many players spend hours adjusting settings when one FOV change can solve the problem instantly.

Every time you finish a match, look at the farthest object you can see for 10 seconds before queueing again.

It relaxes your eye focus distance and reduces visual fatigue.

A surprising number of players notice their aim and awareness stay sharper much longer during marathon sessions.

What is the weirdest non-settings, non-gear change that instantly made you play better?

Why is stick drift still a problem in 2026?

Controller stick drift has been one of gaming's most frustrating hardware problems for years.

At the same time, more companies are now using Hall Effect and TMR (Tunnel Magnetoresistance) sensors, technologies that are designed to greatly reduce or even eliminate the wear that causes traditional analog sticks to drift.

That raises an obvious question.

If alternatives already exist, why are so many premium first-party controllers still using older stick technology?

Some gamers believe drift should no longer be acceptable on expensive controllers.

Others argue that factors like cost, manufacturing, compatibility, and large-scale production make the transition slower than people expect.

Do you think Hall Effect and TMR sticks should become the standard for every controller, or are most players not concerned enough for manufacturers to change?

Has cross-platform gaming made multiplayer better or worse?

Searches for Subnautica 2 cross platform are exploding, while discussions around potential Overwatch Fortnite crossover content show how connected gaming ecosystems are becoming.

A few years ago, gamers were begging for cross-play. Now that it is everywhere, some players are starting to question whether it comes with too many downsides.

Console players often point to PC cheaters, higher frame rates, and mouse-and-keyboard advantages.

PC players argue that strong aim assist can sometimes feel like an unfair advantage in its own way.

At the same time, cross-platform gaming means faster matchmaking, bigger communities, and being able to play with friends regardless of platform.

If developers could only choose one, would you rather have full cross-play everywhere or keep PC and console multiplayer separate?

The most valuable skill in gaming might no longer be making games.

The rise of companies like Delphi Interactive raises an interesting question.

Developers make games. Publishers fund games. But a growing number of companies create value simply by connecting talent, technology, and major IP.

Could the future gaming giants be companies that don't actually develop games themselves?
