The curse of immortality.
It’s been used a lot from movies to TV shows to (here for example) comic books.

In Stephen King’s Green Mile the main character Paul is 108 years old.

He realizes that he will live to see everyone he love, grow old and die.

He believed that this is his punishment for letting a miracle of God be executed.

And I made a comparison to Cain, because in the Bible, he was punished with a mark, and now he’s a wander.

And in some Christian tradition stories

He is now cursed with immortality

The IG account of screaming mad George shares further details of his passing and life

It shocked me that he died back in February.

I don’t know why, but I feel a little creeped out.

It’s more on the fact that we didn’t know. He was no longer with us until someone told us.

Imagine learning that someone you knew passed passed away earlier this year.

Like we’re so used to News breaking of a person dying the hour or the day it happened

It just feels really odd and out of place to learn that he passed away in February and now we’re learning it in August

I decided to do some genre researching to see if there’s any other stories that are similar to GBF. Any of you know of other stories set in a world of sky

Started as a Google search out of curiosity.

And I found out that there are a bunch of stories like GBF where it’s set in this world of floating islands in an endless sky with airships.

Also, there are some that have hints of an older and more advanced civilization that got destroyed.

You have warriors and peoples that resemble real life cultures like Japan or France.

Even have names or terms that usually come from other countries like samurai or musketeer.

AU event: Lu and Hiraku decide to officially get married and have a large wedding at the great tree village that everyone pitches in (let’s just say vampire weddings are very very high class)

It’s something that a lot of people I brought up before that even though, Lu mention that Hiraku is her husband they don’t talk much about their you know marriage and they don’t even have a wedding.

(I mean, Lu it’s kind of treated like the first lady of the house you know. She is the wife of the mayor.)
It’s what I’m thinking. What if they decided one day they should make it official.

After all these years of being together.

They decide to actually have a wedding.

But obviously, the weddings in this other world are very different from Japan.

It may look similar to weddings from Europe.

Well, let’s just say things are very, very different

For example, the bride is the one that gets dressed up.

It depends on different vampire Sects
But for Lu
She will be wearing a wedding dress that has been the wedding dress of many brides in the past.

Traditionally, something new is added to the dress.

A velvet silk ribbon and a tapestry like bridal Cape are just one of many examples.

Much as I love the GATE reference by history buff it gave me a very scary thought. What if Ridley Scott directed a live action gay movie?

I mean, obviously really Scott has done military films before like Blackhawk down

(by the way, the real life person that the main character in the film is based on it’s actually a pedophile)

But I’m thinking like some grey tone movie that really doesn’t understand how a military would operate in another world. I mean, the manga actually took its time to explore and explain how the JSDF operate in the special region.

It’ll just probably be basically if operation desert storm was in Mordor.

And much as that would be cool can we have more of a demonstration?

Like show the JSDF aligned in themselves with Rory
Or have them doing research and reconnaissance, and actually tried to end this word diplomatically
