I would personally change Goku’s personality to something better and make him smarter.

Considering all these guys have a knack of escaping so many times and all.

2 anime series and movies not to mention the type of action and story it is you figure it would have more of a following but that’s fare from the case.

This might still not work if the Freedom Fighters but I had another idea where Sonic is still running around stopping Robotnik, he later meets Tails the same way he did in games but sometime later they both find and end up in Knothole Village already under Eggman’s control either Robotnik there, his nephew is left in charge or he comes back later. While there Sonic and Tails decide to help the village and then meet Sally and the rest of the freedom fighters, team up and become close. They both find out that they were born there and somehow ended on the outside world by unknown reasons and when they defeat Eggman they leave Knothole Village to continuing their battle against Dr Robotnik(who later becomes Dr Eggman) saying they will reunite with the others again and the Freedom Fighters are either having peaceful times or still fighting Snively. Finally the Freedom Fighters eventually reunite with Sonic and Tails and meet the rest of their friends and continue their adventures with them.
I really wish The Freedom Fighters can return but I think the only they could now is in a new Sonic Tv Show where it has nothing to do with the games or comics. ALSO is anyone is interested the Satam Sonic cartoon is on YouTube free.
