Footage of a tigress erupting from tall grass, leaping 16–18 feet into the air, and mauling the hand of a man riding an elephant
In May 2004, a joint team of forest officials and veterinarians in Kaziranga National Park,India set out to locate a large tigress that had been repeatedly attacking village cattle near the Diphlu Pothar area. Riding on departmental elephants, they carefully searched through the dense, shoulder-high grass, unaware that the tigress was lying concealed just a few meters away.
Without warning, the tigress exploded out of the grass in a lightning-fast ambush. In a single bound, she launched herself nearly 16–18 feet into the air and landed on the front of the elephant, The attack lasted only seconds, but it was enough for her to seize and severely maul the hand of the mahout.
Then Despite the surprise attack, the elephant stood her ground and fought back, throwing the tigress off before she could inflict any further injuries. The tigress disappeared back into the tall grass as quickly as she had emerged, leaving behind one of the most dramatic and well-documented tiger encounters ever captured on film.
More than two decades later, the footage remains one of the most famous wildlife incidents from Kaziranga, a stark reminder of the incredible speed, power, and unpredictability of tigers in their natural habitat

Jump Rope Meetup - Vancouver, BC
I finally left my backyard and attended a local Jump Rope Meetup and got to jump with the organizer who I follow on Instagram @jumping_jacqz. She’s a great follow if you like Jump Rope content. She runs the @jumpropevancouver meetup every month and provides extra ropes so anyone in the public can try. Unfortunately, I don’t think she’s on Reddit, but I’m trying to get her to join this subreddit.
It’s so nice to jump with others. I highly recommend you check to see if there is a jump rope group in your city. If not, create one. Remember, if you jump, they will come!

E20 is ruining our cars, but the ground reality of ethanol factories is straight up dystopian.
We already know the whole E20 story and how this forced blend is eating our engines and killing our mileage. But the ground reality of how this ethanol is actually being made truly exposes the sheer hypocrisy of forcing it down on us by justifying it in the name of environment protection.
Look at the sheer amount of pollution these plants are dumping. They are poisoning the groundwater and destroying the local environment. And who actually profits from this? Gadkari, his family’s agro firms, and the massive sugar lobby. Their revenues have magically shot up since this mandate started, while we pay ₹100+ for fuel that actively destroys our own vehicles.
What blows my mind is how blatantly this is happening in broad daylight. They aren't even trying to hide the conflict of interest anymore. Why is there absolutely zero protest spirit left in us? We just quietly accept getting robbed at the fuel pump, having our cars ruined, and watching the environment get trashed so a specific political nexus can print money.
P.S. - This post was deleted within seconds of posting from the other car subreddit.

Steam Train in Central Virginia, USA
The Buckingham Branch Railway along with the Scenic Virginia Railway project have a limited summer series of scenic train services using the Norfolk & Western 611. The service goes between Staunton and Louisa. This is the train leaving Louisa this morning, June 26, 2026. It includes a dome car as well.
A small crowd came out to see it, I just happen to work next to the tracks and had no idea why everybody was standing around in my parking lot! Had to look all this up to provide some context, haha.
